Down on the Street: Datsun Cherry E10 in office building!

This Datsun Cherry 100A E10 on a set of KN Jupiter rims just happened to be somewhere in the background of a Dutch news clip. It happened in a flash and I had to replay the video twice to confirm it was indeed a 100A Cherry E10. It took me 5 minutes to figure out where it actually was located…

The news clip featured a meeting room sign with the name The Louis. I googled for it and came across a shared office building called B. Building in the south-west of Amsterdam that featured a bookable meeting room with that name.

On that very same site I also found some photos of the foyer featuring the Datsun 100A standing on top of the entrance. That’s actually the photo I featured above. There is actually a link with the Datsun: the building used to be the Nissan European headquarters in Amsterdam and was later used by the clothing brand MEXX as it’s headquarters.

I found a video from 2017 about the office building with a couple of shots featuring the Datsun Cherry:

Initial Ka: 10hp for this worn Initial D sticker! [Found on the Street]

In this video we have an Initial D sticker applied to a Ford Ka. Would this make it an Initial Ka?
Initial Ka: initial d sticker plus Ford Ka
Sunday is always a special day. That’s the day when you go out, take a long hike in the woods and eventually end up where most people go to after a long day out: a small local restaurant. Last Sunday I ended up doing exactly what I just described.

In the parking lot of the restaurant a small sticker drew my attention: an Initial D sticker! The sticker looked old and worn, but unmistakably it was an Initial D sticker! What was worse: it had been attached on the bootlid of a Ford Ka, delivering at least an additional 10 horses!

Widebody Honda CRX Mk II ED9 [Down on the Street]

This widebody Honda CRX Mk II ED9 has been featured two and a half years ago in the down on the street photo series.

Back then it looked like the build was relatively new and I shot a few photos of it. I even made an attempt to shoot a video Wasabi Cars style, but as it was winter the lack of ambient light made it look horrible. And then it disappeared and probably went back to Poland.

Reunited

You can imagine how happy I was to see the CRX again, and this time even closer to my home. Continue reading

Shabby Infiniti G20 [Down on the Street]

I found this shabby Infiniti G20 parked next to my hotel in San Mateo, California.
Shabby Infiniti G20
Its paint has eroded by the Californian sun and the interior looked quite worn. Not only was the paint peeling off, someone did a very dodgy job covering this up by adding a black layer of matte paint. Basically converting it to a two-tone scheme. The G20 was covered in pine needles, indicating that it has been standing there for some time. Well, at least after September 2015 according to Google Streetview. Continue reading

Unmolested Nissan 240SX [Down on the Street]

Welcome to another Down on the Street video!

Unmolested 240SX

I found this unmolested Nissan 240SX in Santa Cruz while driving towards the beach. I stopped and jumped out of the my rental car and shot a short video. Unfortunately nobody was around and I couldn’t make any inquiries about it.

Drift car

With unmolested I obviously mean it has not been converted into a drift car. It is even rarer to find a bone stock S13 than a tuned or lowered one. Continue reading

Mazda MX5 NB by I.L. Motorsport [Down on the Street]

Welcome to another Down on the Street video!

Mazda MX5 NB

Today’s car spot is a Mazda MX5 NB with a very interesting body kit. I found it parked on the market square in my home town in front of the cinema. From a far distance I spotted the little MX5 and the closer I got the more interesting it became. I noticed the twin exhaust pipes and the wide flared fenders and decided it was definitely worth making a video of this car.

I.L. Motorsport bodykit

It took me a while to find the manufacturer of the bodykit and I only managed to find this picture of it. The bodykit has been developed by I.L. Motorsport in Germany somewhere in 2003 and thirteen years later there is nothing more I can find out about it.

Sex Spec Styling

The styling of the bodykit has aged a bit and it leans against what Marty and Moog from Mighty Car Mods call sex spec styling.
