Ebay treasures: fancy a Mitsuoka taxi?

No this is not a product of an undiscovered British car brand with an exotic name:
Ebay Treasures - Mitsuoka Galue
It is is also not the new London taxi built by a Chinese car manufacturer either…
It actually is a product by Mitsuoka called the Galue and is based upon the Nissan Crew taxi!

All Mitsuoka products are inspired by 40s and 50s British cars (like Jaguar, Rover, etc) and the two versions of the Galue are no exception to this rule: Continue reading

Ebay Treasures: 66 kilometer Daihatsu Opti from the Leipzig Auto Show!

According to the claim on Marktplaats (Dutch Craigslist) this 1992 Daihatsu Opti was actually a show car for the 1992 Leipzig Auto Show:

The car has been shipped from Japan to Leipzig to be shown to the public. Apparently the public didn’t like it that much and the Opti never made it to Europe.

Ebay treasures: Mitsuoka’s View on Jaguar

Back in the late fifties Jaguar launched the Mark 2 as a medium sized saloon and it was an instant hit! The Mark 2 entry level engine already had an output of 120hp (cars with ten times less horses were still for sale back then!) and its top model, the 3.8 litre XK model, featured an output of 220hp. Marktplaats treasures: Low mileage Mazda RX5 (not even 1000km!)

This ad on Marktplaats (Dutch Ebay/Craigslist) really shocked me: a genuine Mazda RX5 with less than 1000 kilometer on the odometer!
Low mileage Mazda RX5
Obviously I contacted the seller and he confirmed the car is genuine. It never left the dealership and nobody has owned the car before and it was only used occasionally for a (very) short drive to keep it in good condition!

Now imagine how immaculate this car is: Continue reading

Ebay treasures: yellow RexSeven

I can imagine people thinking the first generation RX7 (SA22 and FB) looks outdated. So obviously you want to update the looks of it and just model it after some newer model… Well, this little SA22 (for sale on Marktplaats) does have some updated looks!

First of all: the tail lights are clearly influenced by the Ferrari 575. But if you look closer to the design you can spot they are actually Opel GT tail lights.

Then we move to the front of the car: Continue reading
