Last week I discovered Ka Ko (via Rocketpencil) who posts Best Motoring videos on an almost daily basis! 🙂
One of the gems he posted last week is the very first edition of Best Motoring Hot Version:
As you can see there is a thrilling battle in this episode: the infamous Keiichi Tsuchiya battles with an (almost stock) Toyota Corolla Levin AE86 the (back then) brand new Toyota Corolla Levin GT Apex AE101 featuring the new 20 valve Silvertop 4AGE. The battle is very very close even though the AE101 has a lot more power under the bonnet!
What else can you expect from Best Motoring Hot Version Volume 1?
– Toyota Levin GT Apex AE101 vs Toyota Trueno GT-Z AE101 vs Honda Civic EF
– Toyota Levin GT Apex AE101 (superstrut) vs Toyota Levin GT Apex AE101 (non-superstrut)
– Toyota Levin GT Apex AE101 (superstrut) vs Toyota Levin AE86
– RX7 Drift vs Grip
– Group A Nissan Skyline GT-R cup with Keiichi Tsuchiya drifting his Taisan GT-R R32 on a wet Fuji Speedway!
Back in the early 80s I managed to get my hands on a Mazda brochure that included the Mazda RX7 FB and many times I dreamed away think I would drive in one. Anyway, the (useless) side intake definitely looks as enormous as the one found on the Testarossa: Continue reading
Last weekend Episode 2 of Initial D Fifth Stage has been broadcasted in Japan. Obviously it was fansubbed just within a couple of days!
This episode focusses on the battle between Keisuke in his RX7 and Kobayakawa in his LanEvo VII.
A bit different this time is that I actually managed to embed the video: Continue reading
The cover of the March 1983 issue of Auto Holiday magazine looks like a great deal of fun!
The magazine for car and leasure for youngs in the early 80s is clearly promising their readers to have a ball. 😉
Especially if you look at the kaido racer contents on the inside: Continue reading
I can imagine people thinking the first generation RX7 (SA22 and FB) looks outdated. So obviously you want to update the looks of it and just model it after some newer model… Well, this little SA22 (for sale on Marktplaats) does have some updated looks!
First of all: the tail lights are clearly influenced by the Ferrari 575. But if you look closer to the design you can spot they are actually Opel GT tail lights.
