Down on the Street: JDM Subaru Legacy B4

What car would be rarer to drive in the Netherlands than a JDM Nissan Skyline GT-R R32?
A JDM Subaru Legacy B4!

The Subaru Legacy B4 is actually a very special type within the Legacy series, just like the WRX is for the Impreza series. There is so much improved on the car and so much that is non-standard!

It just doesn’t stop with the hoodscoop (that is missing on this car) popping out of that aluminium bonnet alone: Continue reading

Down on the Street: ghetto Toyota Corolla AE86 SR5

What are the chances of spotting a Toyota Corolla AE86 twice in one single day?
Down on the Street: Toyota Corolla AE86 SR5
While enroute on the highway to Hasselgren Racing in Berkley I got passed by this Toyota Corolla AE86. The car is presumably a SR5 model and it had steel wheels mounted with the old Toyota T style center caps.
The car was in just as bad shape as the AE86 I posted yesterday that I spotted in the Walmart parkinglot after visiting Hasselgren. As this SR5 actually was still entirely original it had a more ghetto like look. It is also funny to see how unattractive a car can get after almost 30 years left in original factory trim.

Down on the Street: well used Toyota Corolla AE86 GT-S

As I said earlier today (I’m in a different timezone): if I encounter more nice cars I’ll definitely post them. So how about a well used Toyota Corolla AE86 GT-S in the Milpitas Wallmart parkinglot?

While I was taking this photo the owner returned (hence this photo turned out not entirely sharp) and I had a short chat with him. He told me he is on the verge of buying a Scion FR-S as he is tired of continuously repairing an old and tired car. He offered me the car for sale but I friendly declined the offer. It will simply not fit in my suitcase and I guess my wife will kill me if I returned home and explained I just paid a fortune to ship a car to Europe. 😉

From every angle you can see that the sunny weather in California isn’t doing any good to the car: Continue reading

Down on the Street: Honda CRX mk2 widebody

A few years ago I stumbled upon a Honda CRX mk2 (EG2/4/6) on about every street corner, but stumbling upon one nowadays is actually quite rare. So imagine how happy I was stumbling upon this one:

A Honda CRX mk2 with massively widened body work and deep dished Gotti rims!

Attached to the hatch there is the ubiquitous CRX spoiler you see on everyone of them but with the widened bodywork it doesn’t hurt at all: Continue reading

Down on the Street: blue Nissan Skyline R33 GTST

There are occasions where I only spot a car once and there are occasions where I spot a car multiple times… This 1993 Nissan Skyline R33 GTST is, as of this Monday, one of the latter cases:

Basically one of my colleagues told me some people were making photos of a Ferrari in the parkinglot at work, but actually there was a tuned car parked next to it that I might be interested in. So I walked outside and found this (lightning) blue Nissan Skyline R33 GTST parked behind it. Yes that is a Ferrari F12 Berlinetta parked in front of the Skyline but who gives a fuck about Ferrari F12s? Skylines interest me much more… 😉

Actually I have to admit that I did not really realize how special the Ferrari was until I looked it up… Yes I’m completely in the dark regarding modern Italian cars…

Anyway, as I found out later on looking up the license plate the Skyline only got transferred to the current owner this Monday, the day I took these pictures: Continue reading
