Carina Sightings: turbocharged Toyota Carina AA63 in Hot Version 33

Ka Ko posts clips from various Hot Version videos regularly and yesterday he posted up a short clip of a turbocharged Toyota Carina AA63 versus a Toyota Corolla AE92 sedan.

The Carina is wrongly placed as the T15/T16 in the description but in reality it is a resprayed Toyota Carina AA63. Also don’t get fooled over that 4A-GZE that got swapped in from an AE92: it is actually turbocharged! Another way to get a twin cam turbo in a Carina!

The comparison between the two is made by driving them as fast as possible on the Ebisu track: Continue reading

Carina Sightings: Toyota Carina GT-R AA63 on wide steel rims

I stumbled upon this awesome red Toyota Carina GT-R AA63 on widened steel rims with stretched tires:

One of the differences between the Carina GT and GT-R was the lack of alloys, or better: cool looking steel rims that were too narrow (5.5J I think).

This GT-R swapped its alloys for the GT items instead:

I keep forgetting that when widened the steel rims also look awesome.
Also notice the flashlight creating a white pinstripe suggestion in the first photo. Perhaps I should do a similar black pinstripe to my Carina? A cool and simple touch that makes the car look way nicer!

Carina Sightings: Rare Toyota Carina GT-R AA63 at Nikko Circuit

This morning I opened up Feedly and to my surprise the number one article was about this Toyota Carina GT-R AA63 at Nikko Circuit:

Dino Dale Carbonare spotted it at the Black Mark Day at Nikko Circuit and it really is an awesome car. The car is mostly stock except for the lowering springs and slightly rolled fenders. The black painted Techno Phantoms really suit the original dark grey Carina paint.

I am a big fan of Dino’s photography and lucky enough I was treated by photos like this one:

Carina Sightings: Devil Toyota Carina AA63 at NCML Drift

It doesn’t state why this Toyota Carina AA63 in a NCML drift video is called the Devil Carina but I think if you watch the video you will get a good hunch why.

Not only does it go sideways just as good as all the AE86s surrounding it, it also gets rediculously close to the white Toyota Corolla Levin AE86 driving up front, over and over again. And damn, those Volk Racing TE37v sure do look awesome on the Toyota Carina AA63!

Carina Sightings: Yokosuka’s Toyota Carina AA63 for sale

Occasionally I browse Goo-Net to see if there are any interesting Toyota Carinas for sale, like a Carina Jeune or a 20v Carina. So when I spotted Yokosuka’s deep blue Toyota Carina AA63 for sale earlier today I really felt a strong pain in my heart:

Why? It is one of the nicest Carinas around and he put so much time and effort in the car!
Yes it really is the same

On the positive side, this allows us to have a peek on all the internals of this beauty: Continue reading

Carina Sightings: N-Style Toyota Carina AA63 by Nori Yaro

So I promise to make it up to you with this beautiful photo of the N-Style Toyota Carina AA63 taken by Nori Yaro:
