About two weeks ago my fellow AE86 owner Robert forwarded me a Facebook video of a very special gauge cluster. The video contained a bespoke Motec screen installed in an AE86 with software that displays the OEM Toyota gauge cluster in various generations. I found out the video was shot at Tec-Art’s but it wasn’t an official video. Now Tec-Art’s released a video of a customer car that contains this gauge cluster!

I’m not sure if you can spot it in these screenshots, but there is only a minor difference between the zenki and kouki digital gauge clusters. In the video the owner of Tec-Art’s points this out: the overspeed warning light! I never spotted this difference over the past 20 years and I feel so enlightened!
Five years of development
In the video, the owner of Tec-Art’s claims they have put two years of development into this panel. It clearly shows they have put a lot of effort in it and there is an immense amount of detail in these dashboards. One of the features is the gradient illumination on the analogue gauges:
It really gives you the illusion of a genuine analogue dashboard!
Tec-Art’s doesn’t produce and sell these panels yet. So far it appears as if they will only install it on special customer cars. However, I surely hope they will sell them in the future!
