It almost became a unwritten tradition to post a picture of a certain Toyota Carina with my X-mas wishes and last year was a bit sad. So I decided not to get as corny as my neighbor who sends me a Christmas card including her and her dogs and decided to post this photo I took of a Silvia instead:
So merry Chistmas and a happy New Year!

Back in the early 80s I managed to get my hands on a Mazda brochure that included the Mazda RX7 FB and many times I dreamed away think I would drive in one. Shortly after that the Ferrari Testarossa arrived and that literally blew away any boy-dream of owning a sportscar and I ended up solely drooling over Ferraris. I think a similar thing happened to this Mazda RX-7 FB that got some Testarossa treament:
Perhaps the owner bought the car and restyled it in Testarossa style a few years later?
Anyway, the (useless) side intake definitely looks as enormous as the one found on the Testarossa: Continue reading
Continuing from last weeks hunting for Nissan Silvia CSP311 rustoseums I present you the second Silvia I found:
This one is in a slightly better shape than last week and it doesn’t require a forklift to retain it from falling apart… Let’s just say it is probably still restorable… As the penguins say in Madagascar 2: With grit, spit and a whole lota of duck tape…

A proper Family Album Treasure from 1986 for this whole family in their Toyota Carina GTi16 AT160!
The oldest son is giving us a double victory and wife and youngest son are enjoying the sight of daddy taking a picture of his pride! (For you to determine whether that should be the Carina or the family… ;) )
Anyway, also visible in the picture is the wooden (Nardi?) steering wheel, BBS rims and most importantly: the Twin Cam 16 grille badge that indicates this car is powered by a 4A-GE and not to be messed with!
Found at Minkara
I think we all learned a lot about advertising basics from the Mad Men series, but sometimes advertising can be as simple as this Nissan Pao ad from 1989:
Nissan Pao, produced by Pike factory.
Brilliant!
You can watch the video of the ad below: Continue reading
Back in 2007 when I sold my Toyota Corolla AE86 because it did not fit a childseat I looked into various cars to replace it. As you know one of them was the four door Toyota Carina TA60, but one other serious candidate was the Subaru Impreza WRX like this one:
The Carina won because it had cheaper maintenance and I don’t have to pay roadtax for it but still years afterwards I always looked around for a WRX or a WRX/GT-Plus…
I did spot this particular Impreza WRX a couple of times before but it wasn’t until I found out it featured a childseat that I decided to take a couple of pictures! It is a bit difficult to see but in the back is a childseat: Continue reading
