Down on the Street: bumperless Civic EK

I spotted three different nicely tuned Civics on my way to work (and back) and every time I promised myself to take a picture of them. The first one is a four door Civic EF on kyusha mesh rims, the other a dark red/brown Civic Shuttle EE and the last one was this bumperless Civic EK:

Complete with bucketseats, rollcage and a big exhaust. As they are all parked every time on almost the same spot presumably they are owned by the same person. So reckon this as the first post out of three. ;)

Dunno if the owner follows the bumperless craze or it was actually a coincidence…

Down on the Street: Wasabicars Style MR2 AW11

Some of you may think you just encountered a deja-vu and yes you have twice!
First of all: I did feature this AW11 rustoseum over two and a half years ago.
Toyota MR2 AW11
Second of all: in the past two weeks my server crashed twice and last time I lost one day of data. Unfortunately I also lost this posting… Nevertheless I’ll repost it again. :)

I did this video in a similar way as Daniel O’Grady is doing his Wasabicars videos (be sure to check out his videos!): Continue reading

DOTS: little red Mitsubishi FTO

In the Netherlands we did receive a couple of the cool nineties-era Mitsubishi products like the Lancer Evo II (and III), GTO (called 3000GT here) and the Eclipse, but the FTO was a Japan-only exclusive model. You can imagine my amazement when I spotted this little red RHD Mitsubishi FTO in my rear view mirror:

Can you see it?

Or here a bit better: Continue reading

DOTS: Super Salooned Crown MS85

Spotting old J-tin on the streets is a big hobby of mine and most of the time I can see in a split second that there is some old Japanese car lurking around in a parkinglot. Imagine the surprise when I walked out of the office and found this good looking dark grey Toyota Crown Super Saloon parked across the street:

At the same time I was talking to someone on the phone and no other camera on me. So I tried to break off the conversation as quickly as possible and take a few quick snapshots with the phonecam.

Here is another picture where I got up close: Continue reading

DOTS: Nissan 200SX S14a in Passau

I’m finally back from my holiday in Hungary, so posts will be more regular than in the past three weeks! ;)

Bad news is that Hungary is noticeably having less old cars on the road (and obviously old J-tin), but the good news is that during my way to Hungary I encountered this nice Nissan 200SX S14a while driving to the hotel:

It had been parked next to a Suzuki motorcycle dealership and lucky enough the next morning it was still there and I took two quick snapshots.

The S14a has been lowered a little bit, has a bigger intercooler and put on a set of (currently) popular BBS alloys: Continue reading

DOTS: Honda Prelude Mk2

While searching for a second hand summer ride I passed this lonely Honda Prelude Mk2 in an industrial zone:

Here in the Netherlands the second generation Prelude is nowadays almost extinct so finding one in a decent state was quite an encounter. I even made an U-turn for it!
