WTF: duck tape 2 way LSD

I already knew duck tape was an indispensable tool for most car enthusiasts, but this usage is way beyond of what I thought would be within sanity levels:
Duck tape 2 way LSD
Duck tape 2 way LSD

So, who needs a Cusco or Kaaz 2 way LSD anyway? I hear the new duck tape LSD is the way to go! ;)

BTW: I have no idea or recollection of where I found this pic… So whoever shot this pic: you definitely deserve the credits! :P

WTF: German Datsun Violet A10 front clip for sale

During one of my late night old J-tin searches I came across a weird German ad selling the front end of an old Datsun:
Datsun Violet A10 front clip
Datsun Violet A10 front clip

I recognized it as a EU Datsun Violet front end (aka the Auster/Stanza/510/160J). I’m not sure if the German license plate actually belongs to this front end, but they are the old pre 1994 German plates issued in Fürth (Bayern) which is next to Nürnberg where the seller lives. So perhaps the front clip of his old Violet?

The funny thing is that on this picture you can actually see the holes where the JDM fender mirrors are supposed to be mounted:

I found out that those points are available on all EU Datsun Violets and only covered with a small patch.

I still remember one of my buddies from high school had a front clipping of his old Mini in the livingroom of his apartment. Back then I thought it was one of the coolest things to have in your apartment, so I bet this front clip would have been sitting in my livingroom already if I were 10 years younger and didn’t have a child running around in my house…

(In case anyone is interested I can put you in contact with the seller)

WTF: MR2 SW20 in British Cash for Clunkers

I spotted this picture on Jalopnik yesterday:
British Cash for Clunkers: 14000 clunkers
British Cash for Clunkers: 14000 clunkers

That’s 14K of pretty good drivable cars packed together on an airfield waiting to be destroyed. That’s even worse that the German CFC where the cars may be reused for parts…

Normally I wouldn’t have posted this here, but when I read the full article on the Daily Mail I spotted this:
British Cash for Clunkers: 14000 clunkers
British Cash for Clunkers: 14000 clunkers

What sick mind trades in their SW20 MR2 in a Cash for Clunkers arrangement?? I can understand trading in the Corolla EE80 above (or the AWD Subaru GL somewhere in the middle) because it is a good deal. However a MR2? Did the owner think it was worth less than 2000 pounds??

BTW: someone also traded in their (immitation?) Ford Racing Puma on the mid right… Weren’t those limited to 500 cars? Or is it an imitation bodykit?
