I was totally unfamiliar with Evenflow‘s Carina GT-R until I stumbled upon a video called Me myself and the Carina. It’s a ff-ing hilarious video that tells you all about what makes the Toyota Carina GT-R stand out from the rest. I did remember seeing those two chaps in one of their earlier videos but I never actually subscribed to their channel. I’ll explain later why I never bothered to subscribe to their videos. But I regret it now as I clearly missed this one by a long shot! They posted this video well over a year ago and I would have loved to see it right there and then!Continue reading
How often do you see a Carina GT-R being reviewed? I bet rarely. It would be even much rarer to see it being reviewed by no other than Keiichi Tsuchiya! Yes, really: DK himself is reviewing a 1984 Toyota Carina GT-R AA63 that is for sale at Wonder in Nabari City, Mie Prefecture in Japan! His usual sidekick Sumire Sawa (沢すみれ) has been replaced by actress Nanako Aizawa who Keiichi keep calling Hachiko in this video. Hachiko will also get driving lessons from DK in the Carina in a second and third video further down below! The two (and the third man Takahiro Kudo) represent the Kurumaerabi car search website so I guess it is kind of sponsored content from them.Continue reading
My Toyota Carina TA60 isn’t unique by itself. But over the years I have tweaked it a bit to my own liking by adding fog lights at the front, 15 inch Celica Supra rims all around and a few more bits and pieces as well. I was browsing earlier today through some photos taken by Eelco at the Japan Classic Sunday 2023 earlier this year. All of a sudden I spotted my very own Carina TA60, but then in blue instead of white!Continue reading
Sorry to share it this late, but I only just spotted the Flipfront hood Carina AA63 for sale and the auction ends in the next 18 hours! So be quick!
Even though it now features deep dished RS Watanabe rims instead of the even more rare Work Excel rims it is the same. Also the cancellation of the rear door handles makes it clear they are the same!
This photo really gives a good view on how the flipfront hood has been mounted: Continue reading
This Toyota Carina AA63 GT-R was actually a corner case: either post it in Carina Sightings or in WTF?!
At first glance the car lowered significantly, features a set of Work Excel rims, rollcage and bucketseats have been installed and the grille is missing. But what is so special about this Carina?
Just have a look at the way the hood opens: Continue reading
How could I have missed this fantastic video by Wasabi Cars? Or even worse: Daniel even shouted out to me and I only find out two months after he posted up the video on Youtube… How did that happen?
Well first of all I went on holiday around the same time. As you have read after I came back from holiday my son’s birthday came up, then I had to find and buy a suitable car (getting a sapphire blue Civic delivered next week!) and only now two months later I am starting to catch up with all the videos posted on Youtube… Sorry Daniel, will do a better job next time! 😉
Anyway, finally here is the video: Continue reading
