I happened to stumble across a TikTok video with a crazy modified Carina TA60, but I couldn’t find out who created it. That’s the issue with TikTok: you don’t really follow people, you just scroll random stuff that interests you. Today I finally found two videos of this crazy build on Youtube!
Crazy 1JZ powered Carina
The company in question is Sbc Modifier in Pakistan. They do crazy builds like crafting a Rolls Royce bodywork on top of a Toyota Corona, a Mustang with scissor doors on top of a Kia Spectre and a Dodge Challenger on top of a Datsun Sunny B210.
Metal fabrication
None of those are to my taste, but I must admit they have awesome skills in crafting and sculpting with metal! You read that right: they only work with metal. None of this is done with fibreglass or carbon, just plain solid metalwork!

Also the headlights have been swapped for Corolla E70 items. It makes it look different and I wouldn’t immediately recognize it as a Carina. Rather more like a Corolla E70 on steroids.
Engine swap
Many will frown upon the 1JZ-FSE as it lacks the turbo of the 1JZ-GTE and also lacks the wide-angle twin cam head of the 1JZ-GE. However, the 1JZ-FSE still features a narrow-valve dual overhead cam, VVT-i and last, but not least, direct injection. The package combined offers the same performance as the 1JZ-GE with 20% less fuel consumption. Not that this Carina will be an economical hypermiling wonder.
Interior swap
The interior also has been replaced. The interior was swapped with one from an Corolla or Sprinter E90 sedan. This makes sense as the Carina A60 is about as wide as the E90 and also E90 bumpers sometimes are swapped over to the Carina A60.

Conclusion
Even though this Carina isn’t my style nor my taste, I still think it shows how much sweat and tears it took these guys to create it. Getting a 1JZ under that bonnet is also a big achievement and I must congratulate them in achieving this!
