Today I received this package in the mailbox! It is a stack of brochures I won via a CataWiki auction. Most of them are 90s era Nissan Maxima and Bluebird brochures, but it also included a JDM Nissan Bluebird 910 and Laurel Spirit brochure.
So I was really happy winning this 5 euro bargain!
Let the unboxing begin: Continue reading
The Mario character from Nintendo appeared for the first time in the Donkey Kong game that got released in 1981. So how could Mario show up on the inside of this 1975 Dutch Datsun Sunny 120Y brochure?
Miyamoto, the creator of Mario, never acknowledged anything about the origin of the character and the wildest stories have been told. Could it perhaps be modelled after this Datsun Sunny 120Y character?
The page shown above is taken from a Dutch brochure that is in typical mid 70s style: Continue reading
Last week I posted a picture of the showroom of a Dutch Datsun dealership and I remembered I also got a genuine Datsun pricelist with the Dutch Datsun catalogue I bought some time ago:
The Datsun pricelist is from February 1973 (pre 1973 oil crisis) and the prices are at least a bit surprising: Continue reading

After one and a half years I finally solved a puzzle regarding a JDM Mitsubishi Galant Eterna on French license plates in the Spanish Pyrenees! Today I found a couple more pieces of this puzzle:
Not the same Galant Eterna but a white 2000GSR GT Turbo model also on French plates in the pit lane of, most probably, the Le Mans circuit in France including a Japanese celebrity called Ken Takakura (高倉健) born as Goichi Oda.
Then the same guy with a dog stand in front of a big ship with the same car with Japanese license plates: Continue reading
Not a very big update, just that I revived one of the older pages that got lost when my server crahsed:
Carina A60 Chronology
A bit more work than I anticipated for but most of it is good old handwork.
Next pages I need to revive are the Carina brochures and the Carina specification pages. 😉
