Hilarious: CCB – Romantic ga tomaranai

The CoConut Boys (C-C-B) are a quite well known band in Japan. They made a few hitsongs during the 80s. Lately they featured a song on the soundtrack of Densha Otoko and since I was looking for a different song on that soundtrack I came across C-C-B’s Romantic Ga Tomaranai (1985):

Wow! 80s sunglasses, 80s synthesizers, electronic drum kit, gelly hair and synchronous ballet dancing! Talk about 80s here!!

IMHO synchronous ballet dancing in videoclips is the worst thing ever happened to popular music! But it surely gives you that 80s feeling. Anyway, the synchronous ballet wasn’t the only thing they ripped: they also copied Madness with their white suits walking in a straight line. Also the whole clip feels a bit 80s anime as well: it is really comic like, especially with the exaggerated samurai.

Best thing of this band is that they had Kim Jung Il as their drummer:

Hilarious: Drift series special: Beauty Battle

Hachi-roku.com.au blogged about it some time ago: Drift Special – Beauty Battle (girl drifting)… I only was able to watch part of it but it is absolutely hilarious!

The main story is that three girls share an AE86 and start drifting with it. They battle with various other stars (featuring earlier!) and if I’m not mistaken: it all ends well with them. ;)

This is a special of the Drift series by Futoshi Jinno. If all other parts of the series are this horrible the director definitely created something worse than The Fast and The Furious Tokyo Drift.

Ah well… Three girls drifting in a hachi-roku are always entertaining enough. I think I’ll take the time and watch it tonight…

Do I need to say more?? I hope not… :D :D

They are all there: Takumi in the Sprinter Trueno AE86 (looks more like Itsuki to me), Bunta (behind the AE86), Ryosuke in the white FC3S RX7, Kyosuke in the yellow FD3S RX7, Sayuki (next to the Sil80?) and some other dude who doesn’t look like anyone at all. ;)

The only thing that crossed my mind: what if they were not cosplaying, but actually showing their Halloween costumes? What would happen if someone comes to your door in these cardboard cars and say “Trick or treat!!”?? Would you have to show your heel-to-toe as a trick? Or of course treat them upon some high-octane?? Hopefully we’ll never know!! I’d keep my door shut when these nutters come around! :P

So this film concerns hooded aliens who come to Earth with plans to capture and have sex with Earth women. So they release a huge bird-like robot named Mogera (it later returned renovated in Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla) to prove they mean buisness. The army manages to defeat it by booby trapping the bridge and blowing it up while the monster is using it. Then the battle for the cosmos begins with the Mysterians and their ray firing ships and the humans and their markalite lasers.
Hooded aliens who want sex with our women!! OMG! Keep them away from our women!! :D
