Hilarious: weird Rose & Mary Nissan Note commercial

This Japanese Nissan Note ad has been around for some time now. It features two guys called Rose and Mary who want to make their own Nissan Note:

This is the translated text of Rose and Mary:
Hi im mary!
Hi? im rose!
rose&mary we are!
we’re going to make a Nissan NOTE.
Wow!
First you attatch the tire!
tire! …it’s no surprising!
then attach Steering wheel!
Steering!
and brake pedal!
brake!
and one more brake? pedal!
brake!
Good milage!
Good milage!
and Milage Meter’s there so that you can make the milage at a glance!
at a glance? clearly!
Good milage!
Good milage!
and break pedal!
more break!?
Good-mileage,? fun-to-drive. Nissan NOTE
I have no idea if the pun of this commercial is supposed to be the Ken & Mary Skyline reference, but it surely would be very funny if it were!

Automotive artwork: Toping Tune

To kee in the same spirits as yesterday’s Carina artwork, Ken?1 posted about a drawing his friend Oh Ro Shin Daichi made of his Levin AE86 on the HaCHi RoCK Festa:
Toping Tune: Ken?1s AE86
Toping Tune: Ken?1’s AE86

Nice! Even the smallest details like the Kei Office sticker are all there! :)

As you can see, his friend does not limit himself to AE86s only:
Toping Tune: Skyline DR30

You can buy either an existing (standard) drawing or have your very own personal made!

You can order your own Toping Tune here!

Carina Sightings: Super deformed Carina TA63 drawing

On Minkara I spotted this amazing drawing of a Toyota Carina TA63:

It was drawn at the second Historic Car Jam, held in the Central Park in Tenmonkan (Kagoshima) and is a drawing given to Rough Garage. (Where did I see that name and logo in slightly different shape before… )

And this is the original:

Too bad Rough Garage doesn’t own a sedan, otherwise it would have been a perfect copy of mine as well. :P
Perhaps I should start drawing Carinas like this as well. ;)

Events: Hachi Rock Festa 2010

Last weekend the Hachi Rock Festa 2010 was held at the Sagamiko resort. I already did find some really nice pictures of this largest AE86 event!

Sure does look like they had fun! Wish I could have bought one of those vintage wheels…

And what about this crazy smallport 4AGE blacktop with ITBs?

And how about an updated modern hachi like this?

Maybe not everyone’s cup of tea, but it surely looks modern enough!

DR30 Carclub Restive Horse

At the Garage Pleasure blog I spotted a picture of a DR30 parked in front of a Garage where the DR30 inside garage looked very very agressive:

Now what would be the purpose of that DR30?

I found out that the Garage belonged to the DR30 carclub Restive Horse and they park three of their most precious DR30s in there:

The one (for the people at home) on the left is a true hardcore track monster (still road legal!) and the one on the right able to drive both on the road and on the track.

Yes, you can only see two of them because the two in front are parked so tight that you can hardly see the one parked behind them! I knew square meters are expensive in Japan, but that it actually is this bad:

That is just millimeters away from denting! :P

This is how aggressive the road going track monster looks:

This picture proves that hardcore track cars can also be very cute:

Kawaiiii! ^_-
I should have made such a picture of my Carina and my son, but for that it is already too late: he weights more than 19 kilograms already…

DOTS: Honda Legend KA7

A few months ago I already spotted a second generation Honda Legend with UK license plates parked somewhere in town. So I decided to go back a few days later, but completely forgot about it. Until I passed it again earlier this week and decided I had to go back:

Not that the second generation Legend is that special, and not because it is a four door (there is a 2 door coupe driving around in town!) and not because it is parked only 300 meters from the S14. No mainly because someone killed its rear window:

I really don’t get it: why demolish someones car? Especially if the car is parked there for some time, does that give you the right to smash its rear window?

It must have happened quite recently since there are not many leafs inside the car.

Even though the interior is made of fake leather, getting it soaking wet will probably mean a complete write-off when left here for another few weeks… Besides that, if it stays like this it will probably be demolished even more. Seen that way too often in my old neighborhood in Amsterdam…
