Japanese rustoseums (part twenty)

The first thing I thought when I saw this pigsbutt (butaketsu) Laurel SGX was that it had developed a rusty (coin) slot:

Its rear end is completely rusted through and, apart from the interior, the rest of the car doesn’t look much better either…
Still it is not way beyond repair: its new owner is going to restore it in full glory! :)
(BTW: it is not advisable to lookup “rusty slot”! :P )

Japanese rustoseums (part thirteen)

Time for a few more rustoseums!

Some time ago I proved that it could get worse than just a few sports cars rusting away: a bunch of Skyline C10s is about the worst thing I could find. The second worst rustoseum is absolutely the Mazda Cosmo and this Nissan Skyline 2000 GTE KGC111 is a good third I guess:

The 2000 GT-E KGC111 was the Hardtop version of the C110 range with a fuel injected L20. It superseded the carbed 2000 GT KGC110 and to distinguish the difference between the two the type designation was inceased with one. This Skyline GT-E is definitely beyond repair…

And fourth place would definitely be this Isuzu 117 Coupe:

The Isuzu 117 Coupe is one of the most beautiful Japanese cars. Since it has been designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro it shares a lot of design cues with the first Audi 100 (coupe) and IMO that is one of the few beautiful Audis! However this example certainly isn’t the most beautiful 117 anymore… But at least, with some love and care, it looks repairable. ;)

Japanese rustoseums (part twelve)

Since posting up a lot of rusty pictures is getting a bit boring, how about some videos of rustoseums? I found a couple of them on Youtube, just like this video of a Mitsubishi Minica A107V Econo:

A complete mess inside and just left somewhere to rot away miserably…

If you like mess and rust this rusty Suzuki Carry van ST20 will certainly cheer you up more:

I haven’t seen so much crap inside a car since at the company I work for one of the office managers quit her job… Her car was definitely just a big a mess as this Carry van, but then of course without the rust! ;)

Japanese rustoseums (part eleven)

When I posted part 9 (with the Celica XX, MR2 and Silvia S13) on Facebook I replied to Matti Alasaari that there were even sadder pictures than that. As promised they are going to be posted here: three Nissan Skyline GC10s!

First of all this sad KGC10 coupe is rusting away:
Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-X KGC10
Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-X KGC10

This KGC10 is the coupe version of the Skyline 2000 GT-X, but it does have the tail lights of the KPGC10 GT-R. You can distinguish it from the KPGC10 by looking at the rear arches: they haven’t been cut nor flared. Of course it is a famous upgrade to flare the rear arches and sell it to some foreigner as a GT-R, so there is still potential in this car! ;)

Now it is unclear what trim this GC10 used to be:

Way beyond sanity and it will never be restored I guess…

This one is a bit easier:
Nissan Skyline GC10
Nissan Skyline GC10

It has no flared arches, got a zenki grille and headlight surrounding, so unmistakeably this is a Skyline 1500 GC10. :)

Now even putting the lowest grade (1500) of these Skylines on a junkyard is already a shame!

Japanese rustoseums (part nine)

It has been some time since I posted the last rustoseum, so here are some more! What about this poor GA61 Celica XX? It already looks way beyond reasonable repairs:

Toyota Celica XX GA61 Rustoseum

It was supposed to be the flagship of the Celcia XX range… What happened? Did the owner think it got out of fashion? At least the 15 inch 6J Celica XX rims look salvageable…

How about this Silvia S13 in the foliage then?

Nissan Silvia S13 Rustoseum
Nissan Silvia S13 Rustoseum

Sure enough its headlights were stripped, but apart from that it still looks quite complete… Maybe still salvageable?

And the last one, a (former) white MR2:
Toyota MR2 AW11 Rustoseum

It still looks okay and complete: not too much rust. Now is that picture playing tricks with me or does the car next to it have some bosozoku exhaust pipes??
