DOTS: Nissan Sunny B11 van

I spotted this rare Sunny B11 van some time ago near the place where I shot the Eclipse and the mysterious old racecar. Since I didn’t have a camera at hand I was unable to take a picture of it. Naturally when I returned with a camera it had disappeared in thin air…

So last week I was very happy to see it parked just a block away from where I spotted it initially!
1987 Nissan Sunny B11 van
The Sunny is a 1987 van and back then Nissan sold, unlike Toyota did with the Corolla wagon, the current generation wagon for heavy duty purposes. But why? If it were rear wheel drive and has extra weight into the back of the car it would have benefited a lot for the drivability of the car. Nevertheless it should have been quite capable of doing its job.

Redesign and change of heart!

In case you are a regular you must have a big WTF?! by now… Yes, indeed not only did I just change the look and feel of the blog, I also decided the blogging software should be changed to WordPress.

Why? Well that’s quite simple: the old software was getting too complicated (I hacked a lot into it), outdated (less nifty features as WordPress), Facebook posting (still to be enabled) and the comment spam was getting worse and due to anti spam matters real comments were declining… So I decided, even though I’m very skeptic about WordPress, to rely on a system that works.

About the redesign: it is a fantastic theme called Custom Community by Themekraft. If you didn’t recognize the logo: it was inspired/borrowed by the Nissan Ken & Mary Skyline C110 advertisement campaign:

Hope you will like the change as much as I do! ;)

BTW: if you encounter problems with old pages, please send them to me through the contact form. Also the blogroll will be extended to its original length later on.

Hilarious: Mark II MX41 in Russia

I really had to refrain myself from laughing when I watched this video: it is a culture clash between a 70s Japanese car manufacturer (Toyota in this case) and the taste of its Russian owner… I must warn you that the music is fantastic!

A funky Russian song, wirewheels, a flashy blue interior and flaky blue metallic paint just made my day!
