Friday video: junkyard car crashes

Where do stuntmen come from? Well apparently in the Netherlands they first work on a local junkyard for a couple of years!
Krimson37 taped a bunch of the crashes he made in 1992 and I picked out two involving destruction of J-tin.
Small warning in case you understand Dutch: be prepared for some foul language…

First of all a bright yellow Cherry F10 gets vandalized:

Also at 3:25 you can see a crushed first generation Honda Accord while the camera zooms in… When the guy enters the Cherry he is surprised that it even features a rev-counter.

The second video features a first generation Toyota Carina TA14 seeing some Seibu Keisatsu action:

Such a shame…

Family Album Treasures: flared Galant GTO

Everything is right in this photo: not only does the Mitsubishi Galant GTO have a set of (fender) flares but also its owner has its share in that!
Flared Mitsubishi Galant GTO
The GTO is standing on some typically late 70s kyusha shoes: a pair of deep dished Hayashi Streets and the same goes for its owner again. Now if only the GTO was smoking as well it would have been a perfect family album photo!

Carina Sightings: Carina TA63 vs Nissan Silvia S15

In the Drift Showdown a Carina TA63 has been put up against a Nissan Silvia S15! That is some serious competition there!
In the showdown Tomikuda drives the Carina while Taniguchi takes care of the S15.

Judging from clipping points and lines the Carina is a definite winner here!

But to be very honest: this Carina TA63 does not feature a 3T-GTE engine anymore. See also this Carina TA63 I posted almost three years ago and compare it with the video above. It is indeed the same Carina and that Carina definitely features a 3S-GTE from a SW20 producing at least 218hp. Judging from the large intercooler and extra large turbo it should have a similar output in horsepower as the S15…

DOTS: Miata hunting (part twentyone)

Normally I only spot a Miata once every two weeks. Sometimes I’m lucky and spot two in the same week. Sometimes I’m even luckier and I spot two on the same day. So how lucky was I this week when I spotted these two Mazda MX5 NAs behind each other at the traffic light?
Spotting two Miatas at the same time
Actually only the top one is a MX5 because the silver NA below the red NA is an imported USDM Miata.
