Family Album Treasures: Group C

Back in 1983 the Group C races (prototypes) were the main event at the Fuji International Speedway with its smaller brother Group 5 (Super Silhouette) being the teaser for the big race. Not surprisingly the Group 5 cars were way more popular than the Group C as they were looking like the cars in real life. One of the exceptions to this was the Hasemi Skyline Group C endurance racer that looked awfully similar to its Group 5 counterpart:

Same engine (570hp turbo charged LZ20b) but then with a lower, wider and more agressive looking bodywork! I would certainly pose in front of that as a little kid!

Carina Sightings: Argentinian Carina owner

Toyotas were sold throughout the world, so naturally the Carina was sold globally as well. This Argentinian Carina TA40 proves that:

The Carina itself is a 2T powered late type Carina (1981) with the Japanese tail lights. In Europe we got different ones with four lights instead of the three in this model.

Barn Finds: Toyota Sprinter Trueno on Mercedes S Class rims

Only in Japan an AE86 barn find isn’t something spectacular. Unless the AE86 has a set of 16 inch S-Class Mercedes rims mounted on the rear:

Probably the rims are not the real deal and some noname knock offs, but I must say they actually do look great on the hachi.

And here the little hachi is on its way to its new home:

Toys: vintage Bluebird-U 2000GT RC car

Last week I stumbled across this Nissan Bluebird-U RC car by Bandai:

It has dents all over it and the remote control doesn’t look that remote nowadays but back when it was new it was the best you could get!

Just imagine that the boy who used to play with this rare 2000GT hardtop coupe is now old enough to actually have owned several of them! If that is the case I probably already should have owned several 935s by now! :D
