Bali: ubiquitous Toyota Kijang KF42

One of the first things I noticed in Bali were the ubiquitous Toyota Kijang minivans driving around. One small detail of the Kijang drew my attention immediately: the headlights!

Recognize them already?
Indeed: they are recycled from the Toyota Crown S120 series!

On another one I found this GTV Executive sticker:

No idea if it is genuine, but if so then this must have been the sporty version of the Kijang…

WTF: Reused deep dish mesh wheels

I have no idea what brand/model these mesh wheels are, but I had a big WTF moment when I spotted them on the beach in Bali:
Deep dished mesh rims reused
Deep dished mesh rims reused

They look like fake BBS knock offs and they are quite clearly FWD rims.

Here is picture that puts them into context:

Yes they are indeed used to haul the fishermen’s boats (actually the “fake” fishermen’s tourist boats) to shore!
Nevertheless it is still a very classy to haul your boat with a set of deep dish mesh wheels! :P

Video: Smoketesting the UZE70 MotorFIX Corolla

Normally a smoketest would be performed to see if everything still works fine. I would not have expected MotorFIX to take it this literally:

Holy smoke Batman! That little Corolla is really tearing up the circuit! Last time it was restrained by the enormous amounts of rain pouring down, but now we really get to see its real potential!

I also like the comments under the video on Youtube by waider:

DOTS: Miata hunting! (part eightteen)

No I’m not dead…yet. I’m just in holiday mode so a bit less postings will be made in the upcoming weeks.

Not to refrain you from your daily dose of JDMness I’ll give you the photo of this Miata I spotted earlier this week:
Down on the Street: Black 1994 Mazda Miata

As you can see it rained heavily meaning a topless Miata would have been no fun at all!
You don’t see too many black Miatas, so I guess this one really is an exception to the rule. :)
