I’m not a big fan of drag racing but I can really appreciate drag racing beauties like the Laurel and Bluebirds in this video:
Apart from the 16 inch RS Watanabes this Laurel C230 doesn’t look too unusual. However when it does its run within 12.299 seconds that may be called quite respectable! The Bluebird 610 manages to do a 13.201! Not bad for 30 to 35 year old J-tin!

I spotted this picture on Jalopnik yesterday:

British Cash for Clunkers: 14000 clunkers
That’s 14K of pretty good drivable cars packed together on an airfield waiting to be destroyed. That’s even worse that the German CFC where the cars may be reused for parts…
Normally I wouldn’t have posted this here, but when I read the full article on the Daily Mail I spotted this:

British Cash for Clunkers: 14000 clunkers
What sick mind trades in their SW20 MR2 in a Cash for Clunkers arrangement?? I can understand trading in the Corolla EE80 above (or the AWD Subaru GL somewhere in the middle) because it is a good deal. However a MR2? Did the owner think it was worth less than 2000 pounds??
BTW: someone also traded in their (immitation?) Ford Racing Puma on the mid right… Weren’t those limited to 500 cars? Or is it an imitation bodykit?
As B-San already commented: pictures of the Nostalgic 2 days already were available in the past days. I searched on Minkara and picked out the nicest I could find:

Nostalgic 2 days: cleanest DR30 ever!
Yes, a genuine pre facelift Nissan Skyline RS Turbo DR30 and it is the cleanest example I’ve seen so far!
For Orion and Kyteler:

Nostalgic 2 days: cleanest FJ20-ET ever!
It also got the cleanest FJ20-ET ever! At least: apart from when these cars left the factory of course! :D
To prove that the Australians did something right with their own Skylines:

Nostalgic 2 days: Fairlady 240Z with 30RB
The Japanese love the 30RB for its increased displacement, so pairing this engine with a set of carbs only sounds like a sane thing when you drop it into a Fairlady 240Z.

Nostalgic 2 days: genuine Nissan Skyline GTR KPGC110
How about this genuine Nissan Skyline GTR? One out of 197 produced, ever! That’s almost as rare as unobtainium!

Nostalgic 2 days: Nissan Sunny B110 race car
And such an event is nothing without the occasional nostalgic race cars:

Nostalgic 2 days: Nissan LZ16 DOHC engine
This Sunny B110 race car had a rare DOHC LZ16 race engine in its engine bay!
Now that may be a bit too much Nissan overkill, so here is a Toyota:

Nostalgic 2 days: Toyota Mark II GX61
A shakotan Toyota Mark II GX61! :)

Just found this vintage 1976 Nissan Skyline GC110 brochure + posters in an auction on Ebay:

Nissan Skyline C110 brochure + posters
It does not only contain the GC110, but also posters of Ken and Meri, older Skylines (from 1957 onwards) and some racing cars(R380, R381 and the 50 victories by the Skyline!)
The Buy-me-now is right (39,95 AUD) but together with the shipping it is a bit steep… So if anyone wishes to give me a birthday present on the 16th, this is a good gift! ;)
You can find the auction here:

And hurry: the auction ends on the 11th of April!
Last week I posted the Nissan 200SX S14 at the end of the winter and now suddenly it has been tuned and fixed up again:

Down on the street: Nissan 200SX S14
Nah, just kidding! I spotted this identically colored Nissan 200SX S14 last summer somewhere in an industrial zone. After this single shot (crapcam died) I only saw it occasionally and each time I was in a hurry or I didn’t have a camera with me…
The 200SX has been tuned lightly: it still has the original rims but it did have a very thick huge exhaust pipe. Also the headlights were swapped and a few other cues have been changed. IMO done with taste! :)
I had a good laugh last Thursday when I saw this picture at Japan Sugoi:

JPop group Perfume in Tampa riots?
The picture contains the three girls from Perfume (Jpop group) standing in front of a buring Mazda Capella (Mazda 626) during the Tampa riots in 1987.
There are a few giveaways: the polaroid frame is a bit too clean and unconvincing, this model Capella was only available from 1988 onwards and the girls are wearing a bit too modern fashion.
Apart from that: nice photoshop guys and a good Aprils foods joke! :)
