Nissan Skyline R32: all models together

I found a bunch of Nissan Skyline R32 catalogue scans and thought it would be a great idea to glue them together into one single image. So behold the whole Nissan Skyline R32 range:

Nissan Skyline R32 all models

I never knew there was so much variety in the Skyline R32 range! I thought it only consisted of the GTS25, GTS-T, GTS4, GT-R and (of course) the GT-R Vspec. So the GXi, GTE and GTS models were quite a surprise to me…
Also funny to see how they used the lights to accentuate all other cars in the range to have the same widened fenders as the GT-R.

BTW: reminds me I still have to copy-paste such an image of all Silvia Generations

Carina Sightings: how the Carina A40 was designed

This 1977 Toyota Carina commercial shows how the A40 Carina was designed: with tron-like neon computer vectors the laser sharp lines of the A40 were cut out and moulded into the famous (pre-facelift) shape!

Apparently Toyota did not need Sonny Chiba to convince us the sharp lines were the way to go in 1977! Did they they change their mind and rehired him in 1979?

Car chases: Abunai Deka full episode

Remember the Abunai Deka driving some Pontiac Firebird Trans Am? Well, the full episode has been uploaded by abunaideka1989 on Youtube. The episode starts a bit slow, but I really liked this second part:

First of all their 4 door Skyline R31 gets some bulletholes from an old geezer, then when they stop at a gas station they almost get run over by a RA45/TA45 Carina GT. :D
Lucky enough the Carina survives well! :P

Not enough car chases in that part? What about his fourth part with a lot of sideways action by a Cefiro A31:

Now if you really want to know how they end up in a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am and how it ends, you can watch the whole episode here:

DOTS: Toyota Supra MA71

A week ago Laurens Hoogeveen contacted me if I were interested in pictures of an old Supra spotted on the Dutch highways. Of course I am interested in pictures of (older) J-tin! :)

If you are a bit familiar with the Dutch highways you will recognize the spot he took these pictures: A4 from Schiphol (Dutch national airport) to Amsterdam (south) around the A9 junction.

On this image you can also see the owner’s name of the Supra:

Alexander Strik is a known Supra owner and a regular on the tracks. So presumably the returned from a trackday on Zandvoort (famous Dutch racetrack).

I love the big wing on this Supra! It reminds me a bit of the old bosozoku wings from the late 80s and early 90s! ;)

And how do I know the Supra is a MA71? Well, the Supra is a 3 litre turbo (MA71), so according to the Toyota designation it should be a MA71.

Big thanks to Laurens for the pictures! :)
