DOTS: Miata hunting! (part 4)

Time for some more Miata hunting!
Mazda Miata
Mazda Miata

I really love the picture of this grey Miata together with the red leafs! Too bad the Ford Ka was in the way. :(
This Miata was imported in 1999, most probably from the US.

Another import:

Yet again an imported Miata from (probably) the US. It was imported to the Netherlands by a Mazda specialist only a few days before the current owner bought it in 2002. The current owner placed the rack, double exhaust and replaced the taillights with these Lexus-look taillights. IMO this Miata looks great this way! :)

So, how about an original Dutch MX5 then?

I spotted this mk2 MX5 while doing my groceries and yes: it is parked in front of a Coffee Shop… ;)

Commerical time: Chrysler Galant surfing!

Now you may think what a Chrysler has got to do on a JDM oriented blog? Well, these Austalian imported Mitsubishi Galants were rebadged it as Chrysler!

So, what better way to sell the Galant to the Aussies than with a nice surf music! Chrysler persuaded the Beach Boys to rewrite their hitsong I get around and if that wasn’t convincing enough for the buys they also fitted
a trike in the wagon variant to show it is big enough for them! Radical dude!

Repost: 30 years of Tamiya R/C cars

Now this is probably the coolest Tamiya poster I’ve ever seen:
30 years of Tamiya R/C cars
30 years of Tamiya R/C cars

This poster from 2006 covers the most important models by Tamiya in their 30 years of radio controlled cars. It starts with the Porsche 934 Turbo RSR Now on the top left and you can see many nice JDM models in there: next to the 934 a Group 5 Celica Celica liftback A28, in the mid left a Group 5 Nissan Fairlady S30 240Z, a Honda City Turbo, some Skyline R32s in the mid right and a Supra JZA80 at the right bottom. Can you spot some more great models I missed?

Found at Jalopnik via Burst sausages via Save the Enzos via ac75d’s photostream @ Flickr (can it even get reposted more than this? :o )

Carina sightings: diffin Carina GT-R AA63

Those British and Irish laddies never get enough of diffin those JDM cars:

The Carina is still on its original springs and that shows at the front when doing donuts. Also notice how nice a Carina looks on those Hayashi Streets!

The comment by the video poster is fat gut, slow car. Maybe true compared to diffin an AE86 but I’d still rather have the ‘rina. ;)
