This Nissan Sunny Coupe B12 is mostly parked near my house. I spotted it several times and even though it doesn’t look like it moves regularly: it move every day!

The car is owned by, presumably, a window cleaner. His ladders are always mounted on top of the roof (never seen it without them) and in the trunk there are things like buckets and stuff.
Looking at the styling the car already went out of fashion in 1988, but as we know its 100nx predecessor became available in 1991.
The Sunny Coupe is a 1990 model. It is very near the Toyota Levin AE86 with styling and a lot of people confused it with that car. It features the GA16i 1.6 liter and produces 92hp.
You’re probably thinking: wtf? Is he mad or something? A mini versus a Ferrari?
No, I haven’t lost my mind yet and it makes perfectly sense to post this video:
It is an amazing achievement by this Japanese to keep up with that Ferrari (except on the straight) and it is amazing how much faster this Mini is in the cornering sections. This Mini is fast!
It is not the Mini nor the Ferrari that I find interesting: the cars they are passing are! :)
@0:23 a Starlet KP61, @0:42 a N2 AE86, @1:11 a Toyota Levin AE86 and a Nissan Sunny B310 coupe, @1:36 he gets passed by a RX7 FD (which he passes later on), @1:46 a Honda Fit (?), @2:13 a third generation Honda Integra, @2:39 another FD and a Toyota 2000gt, he does have some trouble with that Yaris Sport @4:00 and finally passes the Ferrari @4:43. Another oddity: @4:57 a rare VW Golf Mk2.
This week we don’t feature an A60 Carina, but the previous generation: a Carina GT coupe. Basically it was the predecessor of the TA61 Carina GT, but it didn’t have the IRS as found on the TA61 yet. IRS was only available for the Celica Camry model, which was basically a facelifted Carina A40 with IRS.
So, why feature the TA45 then? Well, because of a topic on Japanese Nostalgic Car forum about that car. It contains a link to where it is sold and I was stunned by its beauty! I’d say let the pictures (and video) speak for itself…
Just look at those lines: it looks like a minified Nissan Skyline Japan C210! A small downside is that the bumpers were already made from plastic, so less chrome on the car. :(

That gives you a nice impression of the interior: immaculate! The 2T-B upgrade is progressing slowly. After failing to find an original Celica TA60 2T-B airfilter house I ordered an open airfilter from K&H (part number 56-9138) and will get my second one once The Doctor will find his spare one. :P
Today I tried to clean the double carburetor setup from all its dirt and oil with a brush, a lot of paper kitchen towels and some petrol. After an hour I got exhausted (probably from inhaling too much petrol) and had to stop. The result is already a big difference:

I’ll give it a second try doing it this way and see if I can have it look clean enough. But as you can see: a lot of dirt and oil is unreachable for me, so I’m afraid I really have to take it apart to get it fully cleaned after all.
This bone stock Nissan 200SX (JDM name is of course Silvia S14) was parked from time to time outside the office building where I work. Just like the Celica Supra MA61 of last week it disappeared after a while.
More than half a year later I found it on the other side of town, badly parked under a tree and growing moss under it:

In the meantime it must have gotten some damage either through being parked here or hitting something before because the left sidelight is now fitted badly (rightside of the picture):

The paint was already a bit bad when it was parked outside the office, but it only got worse:

The paint literally falls of the bumper now… Well, it is not that bad: the bumper can’t rust. ;)
I tried to capture the enormous amount of garbage in it, but I failed… All you can see is the crap on the outside…

But believe me: there was a lot of fast-food wraps and stuff lying in it…
The funny thing is that the police did not tow away the car yet… You are not allowed to park your car within a radius of 4 meters from the corner of a street. The Nissan is clearly parked about 2 meters away from the corner. Ah well, it is probably the neighborhood: streets and corners are wide, so nobody is bothered with an ill parked 200SX.
I posted some old footage of touge drifting in 1996 before, but now 86ers.org found some more vintage videos from the early 90s. This was years before Shuichi Shigeno even moved his pencil enough to create Initial D!
The drifting looks very skilled for those days. Even though we are used to much higher speeds 17 years later it still looks quite fast drifting for an AE86 drifting uphill! The music kind of reminds me of the terrible music they used for all anime openings early 90s! Somehow I’m glad they did not use this type of music for Initial D. :D

In the second video they are drifting uphill again. That brings me to another thing: why are they drifting uphill? Isn’t it much better to drift downhill?
Apart from drifting uphill: I see some very nice drifts and some other cars than the AE86: a B310, a TE71 and a KP61. Ah, can’t we just go back to the 90s when the amount of horsepower didn’t matter that much?
