Liveman featuring in Shuto kousoku movie 3

I’m currently rewatching the Shuto Kousoku series (a.k.a. Shuto Trial). In the third movie Kazuhiko Nishimura is one of the actors in the third movie, which is the movie at which I’m stuck right now. You can see him at 2:25 at the Shuto Kousoku 3 trailer:

Today I was browsing on Youtube to find some more hilarious movies and went browsing through some more Tokusatsu (which I will post on Friday!) and came across the Chouju Sentai Liveman series. Take a look at the skating actor on 0:38:

So our drift champion also drifts on skateboards! ;)

BTW: The moonwalking Liveman at 1:23 would also been very nice to post as a Hilarious posting

Carina Sightings: Sorry looking TA60 Carina Part #2

Remember this Carina?

I blogged about it more than half a year ago: Sorry looking TA60 Carina

Well, I found some more pictures of that Carina:
Dented Carina TA60 all around!

Would that guy on the background also be the owner?

Interior still looks pretty decent

In my previous post I thought most of it was gone, but apparently not much more than the centrecap of the steeringwheel and some minor details are missing.

Carina TA60 with RUST!!
Carina TA60 with RUST!!

I see a lot of rust! Even the airbox is rusted!

At least we get some more info on the car. What I understand (my Norwegian isn’t that good!) is that the car has a 2T with a 5 speed. It drove more than 330000km and the chairs are pretty much gone, hence the seatcovers…

The front bumper is a modified 1994 Carina E bumper. Of course the Carina E bumper is a few centimeters too wide and to fit it properly they widened the front fenders a bit! :o

You can find more about this Carina here and here.

Sorry looking TA60 Carina

I found this sorry looking Carina during lunchbreak…

sorry looking Carina TA60
Bumper appear to be from some other car than the Carina. Same goes for the lights but those are probably not alighned properly due to the bumper and hood. Perhaps a parking incident? :P

Big dent with rust on left front fender.

Interior appears to be present for only 60%

I think I saw the Corona in the photobucket account somewhere else, but I can’t remember where… If I can find it I will definitely post it here.

Cabin spirit

Need concentration? Just take a Cabin Spirit!

Tobacco and racing… During the past decades, it sounded as if they were tied together strongly, however during the past few years the public opinion has changed. That makes this 1985 advertisement for Cabin cigarettes look like a bizarre combination! And then the brand name: Cabin Spirit! Inhaling smoke is just what you need in such a tight Formula 3 cabin!

Just imagine sport and smoking! What a great combination! Need concentration? Take a cigarette! Need stamina? Take another one! Sorry, but I can’t imagine this advertising would work nowadays!

However… I quit smoking 4 years ago now but after seeing this advertisement all of a sudden I am really tempted to start again! ;)

Perfect Initial D Sprinter Trueno AE86 replica #2

Remember the perfect Initial D Sprinter Trueno AE86 replica by Impulse I wrote about almost a month ago?

Hachiroku.com.au blog found an even more perfect replica:
Even more perfect Initial D Sprinter Trueno AE86 replica by Autoart
Even more perfect Initial D Sprinter Trueno AE86 replica by Autoart

If you look closely you can see it is a scale model! To be more precise: it is a 1/18 scale model by Autoart. The replica is the first version of the car, so it still looks stock and has the first generation 4AGE in it:
Perfect replica of the 4AGE in enginebay
Perfect replica of the 4AGE in enginebay

The engine has been done perfectly: I couldn’t really find a big flaw in it. Only thing was that the tvis intake is a bit big for the 4AGE.

Another perfect detail: the sunroof liner:
AE86 Sunroof lining
AE86 Sunroof lining

HR blog already mentioned it as an Initial D trivia: there is no sunroof on the car, but there is sunroof lining inside the car. All I can remember is seeing that somewhere during Stage 4, but not before that. I can’t remember seeing Keiichi Tsuchiya’s car having the same thing, so it must be either done on purpose or an error. Maybe it is somewhere in the comics so I’ll have to re-read all my comics then. ;)

Apart from that the interior is also perfectly done:
Also perfect interior replica
Also perfect interior replica

Maybe I’m exaggerating it a bit, but at least this scale model is just as good as the IRL replica Impulse made! ;)

BTW: Pictures are taken from HR blog.
