Sanctuary: the Initial D Fujiwara Tofu shop (Haruna)

Yes, a new idea/section/regular just emerged: sanctuaries!
Why? Well basically last night I suffered from insomnia and for whatever reason my mind wandered to the original Initial D Tofu shop which is located in Shibukawan next to Mount Haruna (the town called Akina in Initial D) and that the original tofu shop has been demolished about three years ago. This is the photo Alexi took to prove it has been demolished:

So I was wondering how many fanboys actually posed (or their cars) in front of the tofu shop when visiting Shibukawan or Mount Haruna, so here is a whole gallery of cars, tofu shops and people posing in front of it!

Also in case you are wondering where to find the place, this is the location on Google Streetview: Continue reading

ITT2012: the swapped Lexi!

A little bit different than the previous nostalgic posts is todays post. At the festival I found two Lexus IS200s where the engine was swapped in favor of some other engine. The (sorry to day this) lesser one was this IS200 with genuine JDM Altezza grille:
ITT: Lexus IS200 with 1JZ-GTE
It has been imported to the Netherlands less than a year ago as an IS200 but on papers it already had a 2.5 litre engine. I think you can already guess what engine it had…

Indeed! A second generation 1JZ-GTE: Continue reading

New motorFIX AE70 wagon video

A new video by motorFIX:

It contains both their rusty AE70 wagon and an the immaculate KE70 sedan owned by one of their customers. Both cars were drifting on the YZ Circuit and they are FAST! Both cars are clearly faster than the other AE86s on the track!

The Corolla KE70 sedan should actually be called a Corolla SE70 sedan: it had a 3SGE swap from a Toyota Altezza by the motorFIX garage including its six speed gearbox. It almost got some scratches when it spun and barely missed the tirestacks. Would have been a terrible shame if that would have happened!
