Commerical time: Mazda Chantez, Chantez, Lalalalalaaa

Back in 1961 everybody loved the good old Mazda Carol P360: it was small, lights and the first four passenger car made by Mazda! What better replacement could be expected than the 1972 Mazda Chantez?

Still powered by the 359 two cylinder two-stroke engine and its mighty 35hp this ultralight RWD rocket must have been a hoot to drive! ;)

Now if only that song could have been a different one!
Chantez, chantez, lalalalalaaa! Chantez, chantez, lalalalalaaa!
I think it is in my head now... :(

Commerical time: reborn 1984 Toyota Corolla liftback (AE86)

No hilarious posting today? Well I already posted something radical earlier this week and this US commercial is somewhat hilarious as well! ;)

I know it sounds a bit weird dissing the AE86, but I had a very good laugh when I watched this US commercial of the new Toyota Corolla GT-S AE86: it is cheesy, it is very US and it even has a (double) Toyota jump in the end!

It takes guts to redesign one of the worlds most popular cars! (eclipse and lightning sound!)
Introducing the new Toyota Corolla...reborn!
This sports liftback was reborn to please you with its balanced handling!
Reborn to please your friends with its surprising performance!
Reborn to please anyone with its low Toyota price!
The 1984 Toyota Corolla sports liftback!
Reborn to please the world! (another eclipse and lightning sound!)

Okay I admit: they were right about the car: it surely pleased me with its handling, it surely did please my friends with its surprising performance, it surely had a very low price and apart from me it also did please the world by featuring as main car in Initial D! :D

Commerical time: Honda See are EX

It is almost two weeks since I last posted a commercial, so how about these CR-X commercials? They surely are typical early 80s commercials with their music by Salon Music and their comic like photo animation!

The name CRX was even more cleverly chosen than the, already famous, SX designation. The song pronounces it clearly as See are EX. Now guess what you could get if you bought this car??

Another one:
Two more CRX and a CRZ commercial after the jump!

Commerical time: We, motor sports

The last bunch Hide7031 posted so far are the commercials for the Nissan Skyline R31 series. Especially the third commercial shows its 80s brilliance: We, motor sports. That's about everything you need to know!

The other commercials continue with this catchphrase and do we actually see the 80s Ken and Mary jumping in the fifth commercial?

Commerical time: Ken and Mary love the Skyline Japan

We all know the Nissan Skyline C210 was better known as the Skyline Japan. What we never saw so far were the commercials featuring a Ken and Mary driving the C210 while Mary states she loves Japan.

There are some gems between these commercials: the helicopter commercial is quite good and the very un-ken&mary 2000GT commercial is also very 80s. Funny to see how Ken and Mary never seem to age at all!
