Ebay treasures: KE30 hubcaps and unfinished rims

Unlike what the title says they aren’t exactly for sale at Ebay, but rather on its free of charge Dutch co-site called Marktplaats.

Over two years ago I found the worlds ugliest hubcaps on Marktplaats. I found another Corolla KE30 hubcap set for sale at Marktplaats:
Marktplaats KE30 hubcaps
Marktplaats KE30 hubcaps

Last time I did get a lot of emails from people who wanted them, but I was unable to get them because that set got sold. So if you really want them, be quick and I might be able to arrange them for you. :)

Then I also bumped into these rims, advertised as suitable for an AE86 . and had a big laugh about the picture:
AE86 rimsL: Only needs a bit of color
AE86 rimsL: Only needs a bit of color

Basically the MS Paint text roughly translates into:
Only needs a bit of color. AE86 Toyota 4x 15 inch
Damn funny! :D

Carina Sightings: Rob GTZs old red Carina GT-R

I wanted to post these two pictures of Rob GTZ’s old beautiful red Carina GT-R for a while now:
Rob GTZs red Carina GT-R AA63
Rob GTZs red Carina GT-R AA63

He put his GT-R for sale two years ago and back then I already found it a beauty! He sold the car and the new owner freshened up the car and shared the pictures with him! Marvelous job done!

Even though I love Work Equipe wheels I do think these new rims look much better on the Carina:

Makes me jealous I’m not living in New Zealand where all the great Japanese cars end up when they reach the Japanese retirement age…

Japanese rustoseums (part nineteen)

What is the chance you find two Mazda Cosmos together? One out of a billion?

So what is the chance you will see seven together?
Mazda Cosmo scrapyard
Mazda Cosmo scrapyard

I thought the Cosmo rustoseum photo I posted a year ago (mother of all rustoseum posts!) was a single incident, but apparently there were more!

According to the photographer, Komin, there were about 10 Cosmo wrecks. Only 1,519 Cosmos were (hand)built by Mazda, so imagine what this Cosmo scrapyard could possibly be worth for a collector/restorer!

Hat tip to Gred for finding this gem!
Picture originated from [Komin’s photo blog] (Check it out: very interesting and beautiful pictures!)
