Remembering Japanese cars from the past

Bassie en Adriaan Prelude replica not an replica!

Over a year ago I found an advertisement of someone selling the Honda Prelude used in the Dutch childrens series Bassie en Adriaan. It is all about this car (including caravan):
Bassie en Adriaan Prelude
Back then I doubted if the car would actually be the genuine car since the intro movies featured a different Prelude. Yesterday I received the ANWB Magazine (Dutch JAF equivalent) and it featured an article on movie cars including the Bassie en Adriaan Prelude. I now have clarity on the subject: it is genuine!

Hilarious: Mark II MX41 in Russia

I really had to refrain myself from laughing when I watched this video: it is a culture clash between a 70s Japanese car manufacturer (Toyota in this case) and the taste of its Russian owner… I must warn you that the music is fantastic!

A funky Russian song, wirewheels, a flashy blue interior and flaky blue metallic paint just made my day!

Hilarious: drift mom and dad around Ebisu in a JZX90!

This brought a big grin on my face when I watched this video: Minihux from Dirft Colors (previously WeAreDrift) drifts his mom and dad around Ebisu circuit in a borrowed Cresta JZX90. Apparently his mom and dad weren’t that impressed…

Perhaps he went a bit soft on them…

Before you think the car switches from RHD to LHD all the time: minihux claims the camera was upside down in the car, so therefore he flipped the video, making it LHD. Makes sense since the paper stuck on the rear window is readable now and normally is only readable from the outside.
