Carina Sightings: Blue Carina TA60 automatic

It is a bit weird to see the twin brother of my own Carina:

Yes, it looks exactly the same as mine, is an automatic, it is blue and it is located about 50 kilometers from my home! Maybe time to reunite them? :P

Not only is it blue on the outside, but it is also blue on the inside!
Trivia: the car is parked by someone not used to an automatic gearbox! The car is still in Drive! ;)

Even though it may appear as the twin brother of my Carina with the difference that it is blue (did I already mention that?) there are certainly a few other striking differences: no right side mirror (yes, not obliged in the Netherlands until 1992), no seatbelts on the back seats (clearly a Dutch model), less attrictive steel wheels (mine had gunmetal grey centercaps), front air dam and rear skirts have been painted dark, modern radio with cd player (mine still got the factory auto reverse one), no automatic antenna, 60k more kilometers (145k) and a lot of rust.

It reminds me of this blue Carina TA60 that was for sale in the Netherlands one and a half years ago: same color scheme, same options but then with a manual gearbox and 100k less kilometers.

Look at the bright side: if this car is worth 2900 euros, imagine what my less rusty Carina with more options is worth! :D

Car chases: on the roof of a Nissan Gloria 230

How long can you hold on the roof of a Nissan Gloria 230? This car chase video shows you can for about one and a half minute:

The pickup used in the chase is a Nissan 620 Isuzu KB20 and its contents is a bit fragile… :D

Don’t know the exact name of this series, but it translates into the Metropolitan Police and it surely reeks of 70s detective series! :)

Car feature: Nissan Gloria Brougham VIP Y30

It can’t get more VIP than with this Nissan Gloria Brougham VIP Y30! If not only for its interior, but also for its smooth VG30ET 3 liter V6 turbo engine! Apparently Youtube user iwa730 wants to share its luck with us:

Its got about everything Nissan and the Japanese innovation could cram into that 185 inch long ship: cruise control, active suspension, cruise control and radio controls on the steering wheel, auto transmission with sports switch, radio with tapedeck, aircon, leather seats, pluche door cards, adjustable power mirrors, code protected driver side door, genuine hardtop roof, wire wheels and the list is probably ten times longer than this!

Also the car is in great imbalance: the V-30-turbo Brougham VIP badge is about ten times as heavy as the Nissan badge on the other side of the car! :D

Anyone wants to trade his Nissan Gloria Brougham VIP for my Carina TA60? :P

DOTS: Nissan 200SX S14 end of winter

Just realized I haven’t posted the Nissan 200SX S14 for a while, so here are some recent pictures of this rustoseum:

Yes, it is still there… And the car is getting a better stance every day since the tires are getting flatter and flatter…

Even people start using it to write dirty car graffiti on its rear window!

The winter time was very harsh for this car! It is rusting so badly I already start calling it a rustoseum…

Video: CRX 4×4 somewhere in Holland

Now this is the weirdest 4×4 I’ve seen for a while: a Honda CRX 4×4!

I found a video on a (Honda related) Minkara and when looking at some other videos posted by its uploader it revealed the 4×4 CRX was actually from the Netherlands! Now that’s social media: finding stuff on the other side of the planet that actually happens around the corner! :D

I found it is actually for sale as well:

According to the information I found in the ad (and another one) the CRX shell is placed on top of a Nissan Patrol with a 3.3 liter turbo diesel engine. Now that’s a fun machine! :)
