Games: Over Drivin’ Nissan GT-R review

Last week I featured the footage of the Over Drivin’ Nissan Skyline memorial game and I promised to do a follow up on the Over Drivin’ Nissan GT-R.
Over Drivin' Nissan GT-R
After rediscovering the Skyline memorial I started to search for in game videos and I stumbled upon BrutallyHonestGamer’s review of the Sega Saturn Over Drivin’ Nissan GT-R game. I must say I share his view on the game for a great degree. That is up till the point when he makes this remark on the Nissan Skyline GT-R PGC10: This rustbucket here… I mean… I guess they had to put something in there, but really did Nissan had anything better to put in a game? It looks like a Buick!

The car list of this game is as following:

  • Nissan Skyline PGC10
  • Nissan Skyline KPGC110
  • Nissan Fairlady 240ZG
  • Nissan 180SX Type X
  • Nissan Silvia K’s S14a
  • Nissan Fairlady Z32 (300ZX)
  • Nissan Skyline BNR32
  • Nissan Skyline BNR33

You can watch the remark in the video below at 3 minutes and 17 seconds: Continue reading

Shutokou Battle Gaiden: Super Technic Challenge

I must have missed this game during the late 90s:

It is the intro of a game called Shutokou Battle Gaiden: Super Technic Challenge created by Megaquest in 1996. It must have picked up the drifting craze in Japan during the 90s and created this game for the Japanese PSX. Later on it had successors on other platforms as well.

Currently I’m playing old games at work on my old trusty PSX during the lunch breaks, so I definitely want this one! :)

Update: I did find Shutokou Battle for the Saturn and the Shutokou Battle for the Super Famicon (SNES). But still no PSX version yet…

Games: Super Auto Salon on Nintendo DS

A colleague of mine came up with this trailer of this great game yesterday:

It is Super Auto Saloon and you’re supposed to modify your car to the max, show it on an Auto Saloon and drive with it against other pimped up cars! I see VIP style, drift style and cube style! Only thing lacking is the Bosozoku style mode… Sounds like hours of fun to me! :D

Anyone got a DS for me?? :P

PS: you can buy it here: Super Auto Salon at Play Asia
