Yesterday I finally brought the Celica Supra rims to Hil Coatings to get them sandblasted and powdercoated.
They are going to be silver-grey, just like the OEM rims of the Carina AA63 GT-R had:

I can pick them up next thursday!! :)

Finished After Dark by Haruki Murakami two weeks ago, shortly after I moved to my new house. It was a bit more readable book by Murakami than Kafka on the Shore or The Elephant Vanishes. There is a clear storyline with only a few mysterious or unclear passages, so it’s nothing like Norwegian Wood. I would recommend it to new Murakami readers because it is a bit in between.
After finishing After Dark I was doubting what to read after it. Because most of the books were still packaged in boxes I only had a limited choice and chose a book which is actually my girlfriends. However she didn’t had the time to read it yet.
The book I chose is The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon:

I must say I really appreciate this book: it is a very good book written about the start of the comic industry in New York. Two Jewish boys start their own comic called The Escapist. That’s about how far I came so far (one third of the book) so I don’t know yet what will happen.

The book was written in 2000 and in 2004 Dark Horse comics created an issue of The Escapist together with Chabon. I think I’ll try to find this issue in the near future. ;)
In the end I don’t really think it is a book for my GF. She really did like the The Yiddish Policemen’s Union but that’s a completely different subject that this book.
Hachiroku.com.au posted that a new Initial D game called Extreme Stage is coming soon.
Hachiroku.com.au posted the youtube trailer:
You can see the trailer in more detail here:
http://www.initiald-ps3.com/movie/promo01.html
I took some screenshots:
Look at the detail in the hand, the gearknob and steering wheel!

And here how much detail there is in the dash! It is just about the same as I had in my Trueno (mine was LHD, so mirrored dash) and it iluminates just a tiny bit more than on full illumination.

And here you can see how much detail there is in the drift scenes!
As you can see it is much more detailed than the previous games (they show them to compare), especially the road and inboard graphics. The question is of course if this the actual quality, or if it is only the intro of the game… I suspect it is the latter… Otherwise it would have been a great tool for the animators of the Anime series!
If I would have owned a PS3 I would definitely buy it! Unfortunately I don’t own one and I probably won’t buy one in the near future… :(
I work for Spillgroup which is one of the biggest casual gaming companies worldwide. We also make our own games (co-operation between Holland and China) and today our new game Traffic Slam has been released:

Think of this game as the Shockwave version of Burnout Crash Mode!
In my opinion this is one of the best Shockwave games I’ve seen/played ever! I think it’s amazing how detailed all 3d models are and how many different textures there are!
Compliments to my colleagues for this great game! :)
I came across these two Initial D nerds on Youtube:
I think that’s the summit of Initial D fandom: going all the way to mount Haruna (without an Hachi-Roku ofcourse) and don’t knowing what to do there. What else than to take a ride on the lake with a Swan?
Of course it would have gotten much more interesting if they would have done the downhill with the swan! :P
Hachi-roku.com.au wrote about ClubCarisma doing new scantranslations of Initial D. This is partly true: officially Wangan Midnight Expressway is doing them and one of the members who translates also distributes them on ClubCarisma.
Translations are very good: no weird language usage which you may see in some other translations. Format is also excellent in size!
Two scaled down pages:

Currently they are up to chapter 476 of book 35. 36 and 37 are already available in raw, but not fully translated yet.
You can find all translated here:
Initial D Scanlated Manga on Wangan Midnight Express
And the attempt to translate book 36 can be found here:
Initial D Volume 36 Manga Translations and Scanlations on ClubCarisma.
I’m happy I can finally read on with the story! :)
