Since I was on holiday for the past four weeks I totally missed hachi-roku-day! :(
Lucky enough I already saw some great stuff in the past days like the 48km Corolla GT on Speedhunters. I also saw this video by JRotaro on Youtube of lots of hachis having fun at the Fuji drift course next to the Fuji Speedway:

It may sound weird but this is the only X60/X70/X80/X90 I was able to photograph… I spotted many many on the roads around Jayapura but every time either the van or the car was driving too quick to photograph.
On our way from Jayapura to lake Sentani we drove behind a white Toyota Mark II and at some junction it finally took the other bend and I was finally able to make a proper photo of it.

This hideous creation is actually a Corona T120!

At first I thought there was a Corolla KE70 hiding under that ill fitted front and backend, but after close inspection on encountering the very same car at the airport I concluded that it had to be a Corona T120.
As you can see these KE70 wind deflectors are ill fitted on the doors and the shape of the mid section of the bodywork distincts it from the KE70.

This Corolla KE70 sedan appears to be bone stock…

…but if you look closer you can see some small modifications done to it:
– passenger side windshield wiper removed
– mismatching chrome mirrors
– bootlid spoiler
BTW: the weird windshield foil is quite common around Jayapura
During the decent from the hills around Jayapura I spotted this immaculate Nissan Skyline R31 parked next to a house with a beautiful skyline.

No badges or decals on the trunk or side so I can only make a rough guess what trim it could be…

On route from Jayapura to the lake Sentani we made a short stop in the outer corner of a hairpin to refresh ourselves by drinking out of a freshly prepared coconut. Parked next to our van was this Honda Jazzy with a huge Greddy sticker on its side.
