Friday Video: two hours non-stop 90s drifting

Mr Yumio at Youtube just uploaded his private drift videos from 1990 till 1993. Half of the content takes place at local drift events but the other half is shot on various touges. You really can see how things evolved since this early 90s drifting!
Friday Video: non-stop 90s drifting
It is interesting to observe in this video that most cars at the touge are old “disposable” cars. For instance the Nissan Skyline R30 and Toyota Corolla Levin/Sprinter Trueno AE86 are popular cars. At the circuit a lot of new cars can be seen: Mazda RX7 FC, Nissan Silvia S13, Nissan 180SX, Eunos Roadster and a Toyota Soarer Z30. Still the AE86 is ubiquitous at the circuit as well.

Other extraordinary cars seen at the touge are: Nissan Skyline GT-R PGC10, Isuzu Piazza, Isuzu Gemini PF60 and a hot Nissan Sunny B310. At the circuit the most odd thing is a second generation Honda CRX SiR drifting in reverse!

I bet you can’t wait to spend the remainder of your Friday afternoon watching this video: Continue reading

Carina sightings: drifting Carina TA60 bi-turbo!

I did know about the existence of turbo-ed 2T and 3T engines, but bi-turbo?

If you look well enough you can see a big intercooler behind the cutted front air dam. Also where the grille used to be an oil cooler has been placed. It is unknown which engine has been used for the swap, but it is surely a bi-turbo diesel engine. (probably a 2L-T hilux diesel engine)

The original car appears to be a TA60 Carina coupe and its 31 years old Finish owner takes really good care of it:

Yep, that’s how easy it is to get a Carina sideways when you have loooooads of torque! I wonder how long it will take before D1GP will be flooded with diesel engines. :D :D

This is the most recent video of the car:

I wonder if there will be more updates soon! :)

Hilarious: Taiwanese kids drift better than Nomuken!

This video shows the amazing biking skills of two Taiwanese kids:

Not only has this little girl great parallel parking skills, she and her brother can also drift the corners of the corridors in their appartment.

Their Youtube movies already became a big (internet) hit in Taiwan and they already featured on national TV:

Simply amazing!

Now, how do I learn my son to do that? ;)
