Back in the 80s I thought the Police Squad freeze frame epilogues were hilarious. I bet the people who made this Toyota Camry SV10 commercial thought the exact same thing:
Too bad this generation Camry transformed from a FR sporty sedan (based on the Carina A40) to a FF salaryman transporter…

I really enjoyed this vintage video from 1983 taken from the backseat of a Skyline Japan C210. The Skyline cruises around the Akita prefecture where you can see a lot of old Japanese cars (back then quite new): a Skyline C110, a Bluebird 910 and a Suzuki Fronte SS40 to name a few. Also quite a few car dealerships and parking lots are passed by and you can actually see some secondhand cars lined up that are considered rare nowadays.
Such a shame to let a late sixties Toyota Crown 2 door hardtop coupe rusting away…

We had some family album photos with a Silvia S13 before and also had someone doing the peace sign, but this photo combines them both!
Be in peace with Silvia!
The Silvia is an early Q’s model produced in 1988 powered by the trusty twin cam CA18DE and a four speed automatic.
The owners wife is posing in front of the car in the late 80s and according to him they drove the car in their honeymoon. Now that’s a nice slide to put into your family album!

This was a bit strange to me: a Japanese Bridgestone commercial featuring a British car. This little Austin A40 has great difficulties to keep up with a huge steam locomotive back in 1975.
We will probably never know why…
Two weeks ago I posted up a relatively cheap Carina AA63 drift missile only to discover another on Auctions Yahoo two weeks later!
Another Carina AA63 drift missile
Its current price is 50000 yen (615 US dollars) but reserve hasn’t been met yet. At least this Carina is still in one piece so it could get a little bit more pricier than this.
The engine is quite impressive: a 4AGE 16 valve with independent throttle bodies!

To make it all work smooth a set of Toda cams, aftermarket piggyback ECU and a lightened flywheel have been installed.
Other modifications are a set of SSR Longchamp XR4s, camber plates and front tower bar and on the inside a set of Recaros to make you feel a bit more comfortable in those loooong corners:

This missile seems to be in a bit better shape than the other one, but this one has had less extensive modifications.
In case you want to bid on it, you still have five days left and can find the action here: Carina AA63 at Auctions Yahoo.
If you like something different: the seller also has a few shakotan and bosozoku style rides for sale!
