DOTS: Polish Carina TA60

Okay, I have to admit: I cheated here… I did not spot this Carina at all. Instead David emailed some days ago me he has an extensive Toyota collection including a good looking Carina TA60:

So I cheated a bit to keep the DOTS in the Carina Week theme. 🙁

David’s Carina is a 1983 2T powered Carina with a manual gearbox.
And the good news: David’s Carina is for sale for only 700 euros! A bargain!
Drop me an email if you want to get in touch with him!

Family Album Treasures: take the Carina Wagon or Yamaha SRX for a spin

Now this is a tough choice: shall I take this Carina wagon or Yamaha SRX for a spin?
Take the Yamaha SRX or Carina Wagon for a spin

Even though most sane people would say the Yamaha I would personally prefer the Carina wagon above it. 😉
Sidenotes: according to the source the round headlights were swapped for the quad square types. The rims are PG type Racingforg rims.

BTW: Merry Christmas! 🙂

Hilarious: Carina A60 ads

To stay in the Carina Week spirits I’ve made a listing of all Carina A60 ads. Somehow they are just as wacky as all the other hilarious postings!

The puppy saving Twincam Turbo ad with Sonny Chiba:

The Carina Roadrunner II SG (twice) and the Carina Jeune:

The 1981 Carina AA60 (probably a Carina SG):

Another version of the hilarious Carina Twincam Turbo ad with Sonny Chiba, followed by another Carina Roadrunner II ad:

The Carina My Road:

This lady acts as if she is getting married in it! 😀
Well I did in mine! 😉

And as last another Jeune ad:

Even though the rear bumper looks retarded it is still high on my want list because of that ancient car backup system that indicates how far away you are from various objects (like annoying little girls).

Carina Sightings: drifting in the nineties

A Carina AA63 drifting on Ebisu Circuit West Course followed by two zenki Levin AE86s, I couldn’t have thought of a better lineup myself!

The picture was taken in the mid nineties when drifting was taking a huge ramp-up and Initial D just skyrocketed in sales. The AE86 was suddenly a very popular car and the Carina was a very undervalued car. Lucky enough someone got the sanity to buy this AA63 and drift the hell out of it!

Small detail: the last AE86 was powered by a 7A-GZE. Pretty radical mod back in those days! 😉
