Minipato: small kei patrol cars

Just found a new mind boggling term: Minipato (ミニパト).

Basically I was searching around for the Suzuki Cervo SS20 and stumbled upon a page about the Suzuki Cervo used in the Mechadoc manga and anime. It was referred to as the Minipato. So what is a Minipato then? Simple: a mini patrol car!
Minipato: Mechadoc's Cervo SS20 pato!
Now how awesome is that?

I also found when searching for the phrase Minipato lots and lots of pictures of kei patrol cars used by the Japanese police. Another famous one is, obviously, the Honda Today driven by Natsumi and Miyuki in Taiho Shichauzo (You’re under arrest!): Continue reading

Car chases: Seibu Keisatsu Cedric 430 patrol car

Now that was a bit confusing: no car chase and it is even unsure if this Nissan Cedric 430 is indeed originally used in the Seibu Keisatsu series…

It does state that this Cedric 430 has been fully restored in the Western Police liverage including the obvious slotmag alloys. Well at least it looks like it could be involved in a huge police car carnage anytime! ;)

Hilarious: BMX getting chased by a Dekotora truck

WTF?! Some 80s guy riding his BMX bike is getting chased by a Dekotora truck and a Nissan Laurel C32 policecar?

It is actually a videoclip by Cadillac for the song ????????NO! NO! NO! shot in 1987. I think it is supposed to look like some 80s teen series with the obvious hero, the school and the bad guys (Dekotora truck driver and the police woman). And of course the Nissan Sunny B210 going sideways (a different sideways than drifting ;) ) brings the comical factor in this clip!

Old school Japanese police cars

I just happened to stumble upon this nice video of all pre 1984 Japanese police cars:

I think the people loving the Seibu Keisatsu regulars at Japanese Nostalgic Car blog will recognize a lot of the cars in this video.

I did spot a lot of Crows, Glorias and Cedrics. But also rare cars like the Ford Mustang Mach 1 and a 240Z and a 300ZX highway chasers!
