Remembering Japanese cars from the past
The title of the video was already spoiling the surprise so I won’t post that title here… But you will probably see the title when playing the video anyway.
Anyway, enjoy the following video:
First a couple of nice drift cars going sideways, a few cars being inspected on the paddock, including an AE86 Levin with a turbo-ed 4AGZE smallport (with bluetop valve covers) and then… bang! WTF?? :D :D
“showinfo=0” in the url did the trick: so no more title in the video!!
I really had to laugh about this video:
Ken Nomura, Daijiro Inada and Manabu Suzuki start drooling over a nicely 4AGE carbed Toyota Corolla KE70 with SSR Longchamps and the driver offers them a round on the circuit. The KE70 still has the rear bench, so why not cramp all four of them in that 4 door Corolla?
Inada sits, of course, shotgun while Nomuken and Suzuki are doomed to sit on the rear bench. This requires some squeezing by Suzuki to get in (I recon it was no trouble at all to get inside for Nomuken! ;) ) and as you can see there are no seatbelts in the rear. :D
When the driver takes off it starts snowing and you can hear at the straight all three shouting hayai. The driver probably must have scared them a bit!! :D :D
Some time ago I came across this bizarre video of Ken Nomura (aka Nomuken) in two situations with the police:
In the first part he’s driving his 180SX RPS13 Type X, second part is him a bit older driving a Nissan Laurel C33 police car in a Blitz outfit. The first part appears to be put into scene but is quite funny to watch and the second part is just hilarious: chasing a small drifting kei car with that big C33 Laurel!
The big questions are: why is he driving his RHD 180SX type X in the US when this car was not his professional drifter after 2000 and where can I buy a C33 Laurel? :P
Just found this video on Crunchyroll about Keiichi Tsuchiya who instructs a couple of cops how to drift:

Also Ken Nomura (Nomuken) features in this video and gives his best shot at a Toyota Crown policecar. He fails (possibly on purpose) and Keiichi takes over the attempt with a 4 door R34 Skyline and he succeeds in drifting it.

Speedhunters already made a posting about it yesterday, but today and tomorrow is the D1GP final.Daigo Saito, Youichi Imamura and Ken Nomura will be fighting for the title of 2008.

I think originally Keiichi Tsuchiya thought the pre-last frame was the craziest. ;)
In this final Takahiro Ueno will use his Toyota Soarer for the last time. Sad to see such an icon go. Feels a bit the same as when Katsuhiro Ueo left the AE86 platform. :(
