Down on the Street: Honda Civic EK with red rims

September 19, 2015 in dots

I spotted this Honda Civic EK with red painted rims on a Sunday in my hometown when there was a big happening in the center of town.
Down on the Street: Honda Civic EK
Perhaps the Civic is owned by a visitor, perhaps it is owned by someone actually living here but the fact is that I never saw it in town before.

I think the first thing I noticed were the red painted rims, only then I noticed it was a Civic EK. Read the rest of this entry →

Down on the Street: HellaHi Civic EG in the rain

August 17, 2015 in down on the street

Today was a rainy day and it kind of ruined my schedule this morning to take a small video clip of some car I’d like to feature in Down on the Street with a video. Nevertheless in the afternoon I spotted this HellaHi Civic EG when I wanted to pick up my son:
HellaHi Honda Civic EG
Of course I left the GoPro at home and I have no real dashcam. So the phonecam had to do all the work. It was a shame I could not take more pictures as the whole line of cars started to move and after the railway crossing I had to take a left turn. Too many things to do at the same time and otherwise it would have been dangerous.

I followed the EG for two or three streets as it was going in the same direction, but there were no other opportunities to take photos. This Honda Civic EG was done nicely with white rims with stretched tires that were nicely tucked underneath the fenders. Stickers were a set of HellaHi/Fatlace/Illest and the car wasn’t really HellaFlush at all, so therefore I called it the HellaHi Civic EG. 😉

Down on the Street: illest Hungarian Honda Civic EF progress

July 22, 2015 in dots

It has been a bit quit here lately, but I’m back from my vacation to Hungary! Like every year I make photos of all interesting (Japanese) cars I see and like every year I also visited my parents in law. Opposite of their apartment someone owns the illest Honda Civic EF that I covered two years ago and this year there was some progress on the Civic:

Sorry for the grainy photos, but when we visited them it was already past 9 in the evening which means in an Hungarian summer it will be dark. So I had to keep my hand steady and shoot the photos because this was the only time I could take them and there was no other chance…

Anyway, the Honda Civic EF has been fitted with some really fancy rims that look like Enkei mesh rims: Read the rest of this entry →

Down on the Street: Blue 1979 Honda Civic Mk1

June 18, 2015 in down on the street

This morning I was driving from my son’s school to work and took a wrong turn as people were digging up in one of the streets. That happened to be a lucky break as I passed this great looking blue Honda Civic Mk1:

The little car looked awesome, especially in the early morning light.

The tenth owner must really love its little Honda as the car got treated on a bucket seat (with beads!) for the driver: Read the rest of this entry →

Down on the Street: Static Monkey Honda Civic EP1

October 12, 2014 in dots

I could not resist capturing this Static Monkey Honda Civic EP1 parked in the Ikea parking garage today:

Yes, of all days I had to visit the Ikea on a Sunday when it is overcrowded. On the other hand: otherwise I wouldn’t have seen this little Honda Civic EP1 sport. It is an EP1 as, according to the Dutch car register, it features a 1.4 litre engine. So basically similar to mine, but then nine years older.

Now about the Static Monkeys part: Read the rest of this entry →

Friday Video: The very first Best Motoring video!

June 6, 2014 in video

Back in December 1987 the very first issue of Best Motoring video became available. The video was a monthly magazine containing not only car news and reviews but also extensive how-to’s on subjects of mastering cornering or drifting. KaKo posted this video in four separate parts:
Best Motoring first video: Mitsubishi HSR Concept
The first video covers the Nissan MID-4 II, Toyota FXV-Ⅱ and Mitsubishi HSR concept cars. Followed by a short video (in sepia) about the Tokyo Motor Show from the 50s till 80s including the 27th motorshow that just happened days before the release of the video. And last part of the first video covers an extensive test between various cars including the new (second generation) CR-X Si and the Nissan Skyline GTS-X R31. Read the rest of this entry →
