Carina Sightings: Carina AA63 coupe at New Zealand Nationals 2010

Last friday Michael from Retro Classics posted some pictures of the New Zealand Nationals 2010, including a Carina AA63 coupe going head to head with a Corolla AE70 hardtop:

The coupe features a set of SSR Longchamps at front and some less wide rims at the rear (probably the extra set of tires). It looks very good with the Longchamps, so a mental note to myself: buy a set whenever you can get them! ;)

Dunno what’s up with the hood, but it looks loose on the picture above and fastened on the picture below:

Somehow the Carina single headlights look much better on a coupe than on a sedan!

You can find more pictures of the Carina, Corolla and many other great classics (like a 810910 Bluebird hardtop!) on Retro Classics blog or at their Flickr page.

For sale: Nissan Gloria hardtop 430

I found this damn nice Hungarian Nissan Gloria hardtop 430 for sale on Autoscout:
For sale: damn nice Nissan Gloria Y30
For sale: damn nice Nissan Gloria 430

Also all pictures of the Gloria are just as beautiful as the Gloria itself! I didn’t even know that Nissan actually sold the 430 in Europe! Price is not even touching 6K euros, so a definite want! :)

Only drawback is that all these images of what I could do with it keep popping up in my head… Something like Team Madonna did for instance… So maybe a no go for me…

You can find it for sale here: Nissan Gloria 430 hardtop @ Autoscout24

Galant Sigma Hardtop CS Extra

Remember the Galant Sigma Eterna I featured in the commercial time some time ago? It had also a commercial showing the Cyclone engine, so how about a video which allows you to hear that engine?

This Mitsubishi Sigma 2000 Hardtop CS Extra included the 2 liter 6G71 Cyclone engine. Super smooth two liter engine and with all the extras this car is an amazing achievement in engineering!

Also look at all that weird switch gear! Only manufacturer coming near to that was Citroen.

Even though the car looks great, is a super smooth ride, I still wouldn’t like to own it: it is not old enough. ;)

edit: forgot to add the videos! Added them now!

Commercial time: Mitsubishi Galant Sigma Eterna

Some time ago I already featured the Mitsubishi Galant Sigma seats in the Commercial time features. I found these 1985 Mitsubishi Galant Sigma Eterna (hardtop) commercials:

Judging from the shot featuring the woman at the rear seats they still loved to put in those fluffy seats. Also the song in the video goes on about You haven’t changed a bit while it is clear that the car actually has changed 99% over its previous generation! Just have a look at all its new features!

Not only did it introduce the new V6 6G71 Cyclone engine, it also introduced the switch from RWD to FWD to the Galant lineup.

I really love these commercials: the Japanese voice-over pronouncing the Galanto Siguma Hardutoppo and the totally misplaced Cyclone promo! (It actually looks like a Dyson commercial!)

So the You haven’t changed a bit part did not apply to the car itself, but to its fluffy seats?
