Imagine getting a tip to collect two unused 80s Nissan Skylines and when arriving at the spot you find this to be parked between the bushes:
Nissan Skyline R30 drag racer rustoseum
Nissan Skyline R30 drag racer rustoseum

An 90s drag race monster based upon a Skyline DR30!

The hood is a lightweight FRP bonnet by Rebic, headlights have been replaced for dummy items and the front wheels are a set of lightweight Wats.

In Google Analytics I saw a lot of traffic coming in from a Russian forum (forums.drom.ru) where my site was linked. It involved a request by ExperienceGT who asked if it was worth to persuade the owner of a Carina coupe TA45 to sell it and restore the car. Also in the garden this Carina coupe RA30/TA31 was rotting away next to the trash:

Toyota Carina RA30/TA30/TA31/TA32 in Russia

Even though it looks very rusted away it is definitely something worth to save! The first generation of Carina coupes is almost extinct now and, apart from the windows, it still appears to be complete. Of course you never know how badly rusted through the floorpan might be.

This time rusty J-tin from the old world: a Dutch Toyota Corolla KE20 crumbling away next to a B-road. The Corolla appears to be in a reasonable state, but since it has been parked there for years now I fear the worst. Unless someone pays a ridiculous amount of money the owners will leave it there till it has merged together with the soil...

I passed this rusty rolla many many times but never actually stopped to take a picture of it. The picture was taken by Dutch Toyota Club board-member Marco when he passed it. Since he already took the picture it saves me the trouble of taking my own. ;)

The first thing I thought when I saw this pigsbutt (butaketsu) Laurel SGX was that it had developed a rusty (coin) slot:
Rusty pigsbutt Nissan Laurel C130
Rusty pigsbutt Nissan Laurel C130

Its rear end is completely rusted through and, apart from the interior, the rest of the car doesn't look much better either...
Still it is not way beyond repair: its new owner is going to restore it in full glory! :)
(BTW: it is not advisable to lookup "rusty slot"! :P )
