It doesn't happen very often anymore that I encounter interesting cars down on the streets. Finding a interesting Japanese sportscar like this Nissan 200SX RS13 is quite rare and what is even rarer: it is used as a grassroots drift car!

Judging from the side this car has seen some action already. And what was more surprising: the 200SX passed me a couple of days later and the driver turned out to be a girl.

The rear of the car was empty and a strutbrace was placed between the two rear towers to give the body more stiffness.

Down on the street on Thursday? Why?
Because it is a sad day for the Nissan 200SX S14 rustoseum:

The 200SX passed on! This car is no more! He has ceased to be! The S14 expired and gone to meet his maker! He is a stiff! Bereft of life, he rests in peace! He be pushing up the daisies! HIs metabolic processes are now history! He is off the twig! He's kicked the bucket, He's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!! THIS IS AN EX-CAR!!
* sorry for misuse of the dead parrot sketch *

When I returned to take beautiful fall pictures of the S14 yesterday it had vanished. As you can see the dead leafs even cover the spot where it once stood:

Last week I realized I haven't posted about the Nissan 200SX S14 rustoseum since the end of March. Would it still be there?
Yes it is still there:

It is only the beginning of fall, so not many leafs are on it yet...

But the low sun gives a great opportunity to shoot pictures like this:

Yesterday I was driving behind this 1990 Nissan 240SX and remembered I already shot some pictures of it about 10 months ago. I dug in the archive and decided it would be nice to post it as DOTS today!

When shot these pictures I was just on my way to the Nissan 200SX S14 rustoseum which is parked about 300 meter further down the road. The reason I shot pictures of the 240SX was because it looked 100% stock and was still clean as a whistle! That is kind of rare for every S13 in the Netherlands!

From this side you can see there is absolutely no rust at all:

Two months ago I posted some older Down on the Street by me from a period where I didn't even have a proper digicam yet. So, here are some more beautiful cars taken on a crappy phonecam!

Let's start with this nice S12:

The Silvia S12 was called the 200SX in the US and even though this car has the "normal" CA18ET under its hood it is still badged as the 200SX. ;)
Back then the owner of this car lived in the center of Amsterdam and took the habit of parking it close to my house (waiting time for a parking license in Amsterdam is about 3 to 4 years!) so I saw it many many times. According to the RDW this car no longer exists in the Netherlands...

How about a non-widebody Starion then?
