Japanese rustoseums (part nineteen)

What is the chance you find two Mazda Cosmos together? One out of a billion?

So what is the chance you will see seven together?

I thought the Cosmo rustoseum photo I posted a year ago (mother of all rustoseum posts!) was a single incident, but apparently there were more!

According to the photographer, Komin, there were about 10 Cosmo wrecks. Only 1,519 Cosmos were (hand)built by Mazda, so imagine what this Cosmo scrapyard could possibly be worth for a collector/restorer!

Hat tip to Gred for finding this gem!
Picture originated from [Komin's photo blog] (Check it out: very interesting and beautiful pictures!)

DOTS: Nissan 200SX S14 in fall (the end?)

Down on the street on Thursday? Why?
Because it is a sad day for the Nissan 200SX S14 rustoseum:
Nissan 200SX pushing the daisies
Nissan 200SX pushing the daisies

The 200SX passed on! This car is no more! He has ceased to be! The S14 expired and gone to meet his maker! He is a stiff! Bereft of life, he rests in peace! He be pushing up the daisies! HIs metabolic processes are now history! He is off the twig! He's kicked the bucket, He's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!! THIS IS AN EX-CAR!!
* sorry for misuse of the dead parrot sketch *

When I returned to take beautiful fall pictures of the S14 yesterday it had vanished. As you can see the dead leafs even cover the spot where it once stood:
Another sad picture on the next page...

I came across these great drawings by reallyloud on Flickr:
Scrapped green Datsun Sunny 120Y

Most of his drawings are done during the 90s and made available through his flickr sets. This Celica is done really fantastic:

Also most of his other drawings consist of piles of cars and it is some how a bit of a game to recognize them all!

And this drawing of a Datsun 100a really reminds me of the red Cherry my stepdad used to own in the early 80s:

You can find the whole set here:

It mostly contains Japanese tin, but you can see some British metal (rust?) in there as well.
