Earlier this week I saw a bunch of vintage Honda ads posted on EK Hatch's blog and one of them made me think:
Honda Think Simple campaign
Honda Think Simple campaign

Think simple! It sound incredible so simple, yet so right about the spirit of Honda.

At the same time I thought of the Apple Think Different campaign:
Apple Think Different campaign
Apple Think Different campaign

Apart from the fact that it uses the type face (clear sign of plagiarism by Apple!) it is also the direct opposite of the Honda spirit...

It almost smells like a parody made on Apple after they came up with the slogan, but I found the following pages to back up the Honda campaign:

I saw this Accord mk2 parked behind a corner and immediately stopped and took a few snapshots:

The Honda Accord Mk2 appeared to be in a very good state! I could not see any rust on it. Probably it was a sleeper or a car owned by an old couple like my Carina used to be. According to the car registration website it was only sold to the current owner one month ago.

From the front this type of Accord looks a bit like the Nissan Gloria/Cedric 430. Of course that is no coincidence because both cars were produced around the same time: the 430 was produced till 1983 and the Accord started production in 1982.

Personally I don't like many Honda's, but seeing this car actually made me wanting to own one... Of course, if I can find one. ;)

This week someone I follow on Youtube posted a promotional video of the Honda Vigor. This typically eighties stylish video was made in 1989 when the third generation Vigor was launched:

I'm not too sure about what it should say... Is it supposed to be a Luxury car for Italian lesbian Countesses? Or is is supposed to be a fun car for the driver (gear shifting with an automatic, jumping through narrow Italian streets)? Or is it supposed to say that anyone buying this drives a RHD car on the wrong side of the road? I don't know, but maybe there is a hidden message behind that stylish eighties video...

Oh, and an Engrish mistake in the credits: apparently everyone but the cast is not considered human anymore:
