Japanse Autosport Festival: the odd stuff

I’m still not done yet with the Japanse Autosport Festival: there is still some odd stuff lying around. ;)

First of all Ibrahim and I spotted this terrific Toyota MR2 AW11 parked opposite of my Carina in the parkinglot:

Only to find out a couple of hours later (when it passed by the place the S13 had overheated again) that this very same car used to belong to 7Tune blogger Allard van der Grafhorst who immediately recognized it!

I have to verified it with the originals and it is the same white MR2 as I spotted two years ago. Obviously there are some differences compared to when Allard owned it: Continue reading

Japanse Autosport Festival: the hachi-rokus

This year there were six hachis on the paddock! It has been doubled within only one year!

First of all Ibrahims hachi was part of the group I joined:
Two of a kind: AE86 hatchbacks
Next to his hachi is a yellow hachi on Victorian plates. Bozu lived in Australia for a few years and decided to ship his hachi to the Netherlands. AFAIK it has Dutch plates, but these plates were one of the coolest you can get!

His zenki hachi is in an excellent shape: Continue reading

Japanse Autosport Festival: the classics

I think many of you have waited for this: the classics at the Japanse Autosport Festival!

The best classic on the terrain was this original Dutch 1977 Honda Civic SB parked in the parkinglot:

As you can see it is in perfect condition and I could not find a spec of rust on it. It also has been fitted with a set of periodically correct vintage alloys.

The only comment I can give is that it was missing one small thing: Continue reading

Japanese Autosport Festival: Gloria Y34 boss

Finding a rare JDM import is always exciting and especially this imported JDM Nissan Gloria Y34 was drawing a lot of attention. I had a lot of trouble shooting some nice photos of it as many people passing by were standing in front of it.
Nissan Gloria Y34
It only got imported into the Netherlands five months ago and for a twelve year old car it doesn’t look outdated at all!

It is powered by the top of the line VQ30DET engine which outputs 280hp (210kW) and that should be very sufficient to move this 1642 kilogram heavy weight: Continue reading

Japanese Autosport Festival: the bombs!

There are lovers and haters of the stickerbomb style and I happen to be somewhere in between. If applied in a good fashion I like it a lot, if done in a wrong way I definitely hate it. Given this phenomenon popped up one and a half to two years ago I think we’re currently at the high of the trend, so there is hope for the haters. ;)

Anyway, here is a selection of cars I found on the Japanese Autosport Festival with stickerbombs!
Stickerbombed Mazda Miata
First of all the Miata of which I posted up a bombed flip up light before. All round this car was applied with various stickers, but the bombs were concentrated around the flip up lights. I love it this way: it is easily reversible and not overdone.

Speaking of flip up lights, this is a closeup of the other light: Continue reading

Japanese Autosport Festival: Wallpaper Tuesday

As us Dutch celebrated Queensday yesterday I thought that everyone is back at work needs a new wallpaper! Also the people celebrating 1st of may today can enjoy a fresh wallpaper and last but not least: posting wallpapers on Wednesday starts to get a bit boring… ;)

So I selected yesterdays Silvia K’s S13 with the TRA Kyoto 6666 Customs front (aka Rocket Bunny kit) as my next wallpaper:
