Japanese Rustoseums (part thirty-three)

The big question is if this Nissan Laurel C31 picked up some foliage along the way or if it is actually growing a tree out of its bumper!

I fear the latter. :(

This two tone painted C31 once used to be a SGL, but nowadays it can hardly be called anything at all…

But given that it is not a super rare hardtop or Medalist I don’t think it really matters much. ;)

New goodies: kouki Carina AA60 tail lights!

After missing out a couple of auctions on Carina AA60 tail lights, I decided I really had to get them the next time and contacted Ewan from Hayatonka. He understood the pain and difficulties, and did his best for me. After nearing the scary deadline the price rose quickly, but we managed to win the auction after all!

A pair of zenki Carina AA60 tail lights, mid console and some other small stuff included in the auction. The lights basically look like they are brand new, so that was a very luck win!

Same engine (570hp turbo charged LZ20b) but then with a lower, wider and more agressive looking bodywork! I would certainly pose in front of that as a little kid!

But why limit yourself to the Hasemi Skyline when there is also the Nissan Silvia March1: Continue reading

Carina Sightings: Argentinian Carina owner

Toyotas were sold throughout the world, so naturally the Carina was sold globally as well. This Argentinian Carina TA40 proves that:

The Carina itself is a 2T powered late type Carina (1981) with the Japanese tail lights. In Europe we got different ones with four lights instead of the three in this model.

You can see the tail lights in action around 1:45. (video on the next page) Continue reading
