This is how the car looked:
It states that the Carina GT-R was located in Lima and that it only drove 9000 and 10000 kilometers. Looking at the engine, diff, interior and the state of the car I doubt that the last fact could be true. Should rather be 190000 and 200000 kilometers. ;)
As you can see the diff housing is leaking:
And the engine is quite used and dirty:
And the steering wheel looks shabby, so it is quite used
According to the translation of this advertisement it is supposed to be owned by the 80 year old grandpa of the seller. Yeah right… ;)
Anyway, they asked 3999 (I assume Peru Nuevos Soles) for it which is roughly 1000 euros. Not bad! I would have bought it for that price!!
If you thought the drifting in Initial D was radical: hold your breath for this!
Apparently under the influence of Initial D some Chinese fans started to perform drifts on their bicycles:
The rules are pretty straight forward you just need to perform an aw inspiring right hand drift, either with the aid of brakes or without.
The drift performed in the picture looks awesome and drifting with a racing bike sounds like much fun to me! :)
Lucky enough I live in Holland, use my (1920s) bike for daily transportation and it is autumn. Leafs are on the streets, perhaps I’ll try to perform some drifts on my way to work now and then. ;)

Great to see so many Toyota Carina/Celica A60s and Corona T140s. Somehow I get the impression that white was a very popular color in the early 80s. ;)

On a Celica Supra forum I found a topic about a Japanese Celica XX Meeting. For those who don’t know the Celica XX: outside Japan it got sold as the Celica Supra MK2, also known as the MA6x and the GA6x. So it shares the same platform as the Celica and Carina A6.
I this topic I found a picture of one Celica XX wearing Toyota Soarer MK1 rims:
Normally I would have called them “Celica Supra rims”, just like I did with my rims on the Carina. Technically they aren’t Celica Supra rims since they featured on the Celica, Carina and Soarer as well.
Anyway, as you can see the Soarer rims have the Soarer logo (a griffin) on the centercaps instead of the Toyota logo on the normal rims. Of course I love to have these centercaps on my rims as well! Anyone got a set of those centercaps lying around?? ;)
